The Recipe for Chick-fil-A's Sorely Missed Coleslaw
msn.com ^ | June 13, 2020 | Meghan Overdeep

It’s been four and a half years since Chick-fil-A made the difficult decision to pull its fan-favorite col slaw side from menus, and its tang still lingers in our hearts and mouths.

"For a long time, we were really hesitant to take anything off the menu because we couldn't bring ourselves to disappoint anybody," David Farmer, senior vice president of menu development for Chick-fil-A told Business Insider in 2016. "But as our sales volumes grew, it just wasn't feasible to keep adding to the menu without taking anything away."

*Wipes eyes*

Recognizing the pain the coleslaw’s loyal fanbase was experiencing, Chick-fil-A was kind enough to share the recipe for its beloved cabbage-based side at the end of 2015.

That’s right y’all… all this time the recipe (below) has been right under our noses.

You no like, then post your own articles. I don’t recall ever seeing a thread started by you. If you ever have posted an article, then feel free to let us know.

Thank you. I don’t know how you found it but maybe it’ll stop shells being thrown at me from the peanut gallery.

I still haven’t forgiven Dunkin’ Donuts for taking away the macaroon crunch donut to make room for bagels.

Meghan Overdeep? A character from the Harry Potter series?

Can’t stand the smell of the rotting chicken grease they use

That sounds like my concoction, except for the dry mustard. I’ll have to try adding it next time. I add chopped onion, onion and garlic powders and celery seed. But other than that, just like mine! Lol!

[It’s from MSN. I didn’t check, but I presume their articles need to be excerpted.]

You don’t have to excerpt from the beginning. Any part will do. Multiple parts also work.

I much prefer the KFC coleslaw myself. Might have head over to my closest KFC in a day or two for an extra crispy chicken dinner with the slaw. The mashed potatoes there are nasty though.

That is rather ho hum. Try this, a nice unorthodox version:
One small head savoy cabbage, finely shredded or minced
one large jalapeno pepper, finely minced
1/4 cup finely minced carrot
one cup sour cream
one TBSP red wine vinegar
salt to taste
mix well and refrigerate before use
It’s very good!

I could post the recipe but I would then be violating JimRob’s rule:

“[300 words or less, 1/2 the words or less for short articles]”

The original poster wasted this word limit by posting the irrelevant parts of the article. The OP should have just posted the recipe, which is less than 300 words/ 1/2 article.

Chick-Fil-A’s slaw is pretty good, but my wife’s is the best on the planet.

As is her mac & cheese.

No contest.

So I’ve heard. Sheesh, the critics are out in full force. If you read through the thread you will see that several people posted the recipe. They took the initiative instead of sitting around and bitching about it.

Are you happy now?

I appreciate that, but now the thread violates the excerpting rules set by JimRob.

See post 34.

The best coleslaw I have ever had is at J. Alexander’s, and they used to give you a heaping mound of it. There’s also a little polish restaurant in Hamtramck Michigan called Polish Village, their cole slaw is to die for, too.

“The original poster wasted this word limit by posting the irrelevant parts of the article.”

Geez, boy, are you always this negative? I went back and checked a few of your posts and you sound miserable. There are people, even books, that can help you with that problem.
