A transient Fort Myers woman was arrested earlier this month after officers say she exposed herself in public and urinated on a city bench.
Officers received complaints of an elderly woman acting unruly and cursing at passing cars.
69-year-old Sandra Christian was found at the corner of Main Street and Hendry Street. She was observed by officers yelling at passing vehicles before standing up, pulling her pants down, and urinating on a bench.
She was arrested and charged with Indecent Exposure with Exposure of Sexual Organs.

That’s not indecent; that’s downright yewgly.
Agreed, but it’s not just FR.
The most trivial local news, or even minor disciplinary issues between schoolkids & their teachers, is on the internet “sparking outrage.”
We’re even weighing in on kerfuffles between grouchy neighbors— in other countries!
Was wondering what ever happened to popeye
Holy carp! I left Ft. Myers 20 years ago and it seems like a narrow escape.
No, it's Howdy Joody.
How would anybody ever know?
Smeagle?
Up through the forties and fifties, states and counties had what were commonly called "Insane Asylums" for such people. There was no stigma to the name then and the demented were taken care of and lived comfortably in them till they died. My mother had a dear mentally-handicapped friend in one of these facilities, and we visited her often.
Today we would call these asylums "Mental or Psychiatric Homes", but there aren't any anymore, thanks to the liberals who don't want anyone "locked up" even if they are extreme cases like this poor woman or those who don't want to be committed.
Many assisted living places have dementia wards, but most are not big enough so that the dementias who are more dangerous and who need a small room of their own cannot be taken in.
So, these people, like the subject of this post, find no sanctuaries to live in any more, and they roam the streets of the cities and hamlets taking their clothes off in public.
