p>Here is the background of the video.

Erin Marie Olszewski is a Nurse-turned-investigative journalist, who has spent the last few months on the frontlines of the coronavirus pandemic, on the inside in two radically different settings. Two hospitals. One private, the other public. One in Florida, the other in New York. And not just any New York public hospital, but the "epicenter of the epicenter" itself, the infamous Elmhurst in Donald Trump's Queens. As a result of these diametrically opposed experiences, she has the ultimate "perspective on the pandemic". She has been where there have been the most deaths attributed to Covid-19 and where there have been the least. Erin enlisted in the Army when she was 17. She deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom in 2003. Part of her duties involved overseeing aid disbursement and improvements to hospital facilities. While in country she received the Army Commendation Medal for meritorious service, and was wounded in combat. Erin eventually retired as a sergeant, and became a civilian nurse in 2012. Erin is a medical freedom and informed consent advocate. She co-founded the Florida Freedom Alliance but no longer has any connection with the organization. I don’t think she is credible. I watched her description of the drips. She mispronounces the names of the meds and her so called list which she says they are on 9 sedatives and you would brain dead is on those meds is malpractice. M

She further states it is like being in surgery. Any nurse with any education would have said general anesthetic.

She reads the milligrams of infusions which is not how we report those in critical care. We report the infusion rate on a dose/kg/tine

She is a traveler allegedly and the interviewer gives leading questions.

Bottom line I have serious doubts she is a RN let alone a critical care nurse

She is a Vet. Watch the first 5 minutes please.

I think she is is real. She is a lot of video backing up what she is saying.

Actually this statement about what you call the guy who graduates last jn medical school as doctor it pretty disgusting.

Yes there are bad docs

But when you get a doc assigned in a hospital he or she has

1. Passes all three United States medical licensing examinations. They are administered at the end of the 2nd and 4th year is medical school. Failure to pass means you do not advance. The third exam is as the end of the internship year

2. The physician has completed an accredited residency which is anywhere between 3 and 6 years postdoctoral.

3. Is you have a specialist then they have completed a fellowship

In order to practice in a hospital you must be board certified in your Primary residency and then boarded in your specialty.

This is two more nationally standardized exams

Then If you graduated after 2000 you are required to maintain your certification by stringent continuing education and examination every 10 years

The bottom line is medicine is the most stringently examines and regulated of all professions. While there is considerable spread in competence among lawyers and other professionals this is not the way it is in medicine.

Don’t get me wrong. There are idiots who make it through. But they are few and far between. Finally we are the most sure profession as the legal cock roaches and scum sucking bottom dwelling personal injury lawyers drive a lot of the issues.

Most people would not last eight seconds under the scrutiny that physicians take.

I work with incredibly talented nurses each day. The best of the best. This nurse has no idea what she is talking about and it is easy to spot.

I watched her background and I watched her statements. She hardly has the ultimate perspective on the treatment of this disease. While it is likely not politically correct she makes no decisions had no authority to influence a treatment plan and is critical is things she has little if any education in.

She is an overly impressed with herself smug blowhard who can’t properly pronounce routine medications and dosages. She incorrectly classified meds as sedatives that are not and made diagnostic statements beyond her scope. Based on this video she would be a prime candidate for licensure action by the Florida Board of nursing for making commentary beyond the scope of her practice.

The nurse investigator background seems to me to be a frustrated doc sent to be.

She has no credibility and is incorrect on a lot of what she says. And yes I watched it

How do you explain her background and the the supporting video that validates what she is saying?

I am sorry I think she is VERY real. She comes across as very genuine. Again how do you explain the supporting video, photos, of her past, etc.... ?

Sorry but you do not have me sold.

You are welcome to believe what you want. The video is not that impressive. Is not able to be validated. Additionally it may have several HIPAA violations

I work in ICUs everyday. It appears to me to be stock type video of any dramatization. What I am telling you is her language is not that of a critical care nurse. If she were explaining it to the public she would have done it differently.

You are entitled to your opinion but this is either someone who is marginal trying to capitalize or a complete fraud.

But if choose to believe her that is absolutely fine. Everyone is entitled to his or her own belief.

I never said you were not entitled to your belief.
You just do not come across as credible to me.

Plus you think all her photos in Iraq, the supporting video, audio, her credentials, etc... It’s all fake and made up. It is just a big conspiracy for what?

Moreover, we should trust Fauci that said we would have between 2.2 to 2.5 million dead people by now. Which we were not even remotely close to that with pumped up numbers for cash.

If you read my posts you will don’t thst I don’t trust or believe Fauci either. You will find that I have consistently presented that the data demonstrate that my original forecast was correct namely this is going to be equivalent to a bad flu on par with H1N1 and that the difference is that this is now politicized.

You are free to read my hundreds of posts on this subject.

But you seem to take this personally. I am criticizing her as a nurse for being out of her lane. The nine infusion comments and her explanations are negligent from a medical perspective. She does not present herself well to someone who actually understands the disease and the nursing behind it.

Finally, If she truly believes this there are pathways to bring this to light far beyond a YouTube video.

My credentials in critical care are very good. I am.not asking for you to find me credible or not. But I am an expert in critical care and practice critical care medicine as a physician everyday. And work with outstanding nurses. She does not come across as a critical care nurse.

I am sorry that you are offended by this. I did not hold myself out on YouTube to offer advice and criticism beyond my education. She did.

I am not saying her military experience is fraudulent. I am saying her video of the ventilators and interview are not credible.

I don’t know why you are so personally invested in this. I have only criticized her judgments on treatment. They are wrong. She is incorrect from a medical perspective. That is my only criticism to clarify.

“Of course that person who graduated 250/250 was still in the top 1-5% of their undergraduate class, scored at the top of the MCAT tests and passed 4 years of rigorous academic and clincal training.”

Ok! If a doctor needs all of the above, then please tell me why we should accept any physicians assistants and nurse practitioners who have not walked on the same hot coals? we are being herded toward third world country medical care, and we sheep are supposed to be grateful for it.

I’m not in favor of accepting PAs and NP except under direct supervision of a physician. The insurance companies and governments are pushing that one

I have 4 years of medical school and 3 years of residency after college. PAs - 2 years with NO clinical training as part of their program. NPs? one year post college though they proudly boast 750 hours of clinical training. They are not equal to physicians and never will be despite the push to make it so

We wouldn’t accept APRN or PA as our equals CRnA included. They are our extenders and under our proper supervision fill an important role. It’s only the most militant liberals and nurses who will tell you they are equal to us. They are not.

We agree it through politicians are jamming them down your throat.

Dear Mon MD, as a teaching assistant in grad school I taught some labs that had a number of pre-med undergrads. Academically they did okay, but by and large, as people or personalities, I was anything but impressed. Snotty little SOBs was my impression. When I was twelve, I had a doctor who let my appendix rupture after five days in the hospital because he thought I was malingering to avoid school (it has caused me pain for seven decades). Needless to say, I’m not starry-eyed about the medical profession.

OK. I was unaware anyone asked you to be. And by the way only a small number of pre med students actually make it to med school
