This is my first vanity post, so bear with me. I just think a lot of us need to decompress from this COVID-19 donnybrook, the whole current state of civil upheaval, the so-called 'peaceful' riots, shootings, and lootings, and sundry other manufactured irritants in our lives. I, for one, retreat to music, either from CD or online playlists, and was wondering: what are you currently listening to that is lessening your bile and lowering your blood pressure? Is it rock, classical, country, pop, chamber, ambient, opera, electronica? Who are your favorite artists in any given genre? Are they a known quantity, or a more obscure artiste toiling away in the background? Feel free to post your faves without criticism, to share amongst each other. I think we all have found hidden gems that others of us have never heard, but will enlighten.

I play the charts from Playback.fm I started at 1900 and am now on the 1981 r&b chart. Just played Shalamar. Before that, Cheryl Lynn. The Gap Band is next. Note: sometimes the wrong YouTube video is embedded so I have to search on YouTube or Archive.org for the song.

I was lucky enough to see BOC twice - once at a big venue in St. Louis (opened for Uriah Heep), and once in a largish bar in, of all places, Paducah, KY. (I was working nearby).
Dang, they were LOUD in that smaller venue. Luckily I’d bought some of those musician’s earplugs that cut back the volume without completely destroying the sound quality.
Even tho’ it’s far from my favorite BOC tune, when they got to “Godzilla”, THAT was nuts. People were literally flying around sideways in front of me! Well, ok, jumping, but I’ve never seen anything quite like it. It was like watching human popcorn.
I wouldn’t blame DT if HE cranked up Veteran Of The Psychic Wars tonight! He must be thinking “Holy Crap, I thought I was signing up to fix the economy and get us out of some messes overseas...”
