The most volatile swing state of all The forces unleashed by George Floyd’s death in police custody are already rattling Minnesota — and presidential — politics.

Mike Erlandson, a former chairman of the Minnesota Democratic-Farmer Labor Party, said he watched with his 15-year-old daughter in Minnesota this week as a man spray-painted on a wall, “F--k the white people from the suburbs.”

“I do think that, particularly if this continues, the [congressional] districts like Dean Phillips’ district or Angie Craig’s district that right now I would say are relatively safe for the Democratic incumbent, could be very much in play,” he said. “Both of those districts will be decided in large part by suburban women voters, and it would be hard for me to imagine those people aren’t watching this scared, like everybody else, for their family and for their children.”

The president, who has repeatedly insisted he’ll win Minnesota in 2020, quickly seized on the chaos to revisit his criticisms of big-city Democratic leadership.

“I can’t stand back & watch this happen to a great American City, Minneapolis. A total lack of leadership. Either the very weak Radical Left Mayor, Jacob Frey, get his act together and bring the City under control, or I will send in the National Guard & get the job done right,” Trump tweeted Friday.

Trump’s reference to a “radical left mayor” was particularly resonant in Minnesota, whose political fault lines are felt deepest between the liberal Twin Cities and a sea of red in much of the surrounding farmland and on the Iron Range.

In 2016, Trump won 78 of the state’s 87 counties. Hillary Clinton’s narrow, 45,000-vote victory was powered by the population-rich Minneapolis-St. Paul area.

The left can even control its own kooks. Seeing all those White faces in all of these protests makes me think the Berniebots are in the mix!

By that standard, most elections are landslides. 1968 was actually one of the closer elections in the Electoral College.

But what most people are talking about is the popular vote. Nixon’s advantage over Humphrey was under a percentage point. Very close indeed.

Of course the riots did have an affect. Some Johnson voters defected to Wallace, as well as to Nixon, and that helped put Nixon in the White House.

“301-191 is a landslide.”

I had forgotten that the electoral college numbers were so lopsided.

As a schoolboy I remember it was close until the following morning when Nixon was determined to be the winner.

A Wikipedia entry remembers it this way:

“The election on November 5, 1968, proved to be extremely close, and it was not until the following morning that the television news networks were able to declare Nixon the winner. The key states proved to be California, Ohio, and Illinois, all of which Nixon won by three percentage points or less. Had Humphrey carried all three of these states, he would have won the election.”

But it's not happening yet - Samantha Shader, the criminal who threw a lit Molotov cocktail at a police car full of officers yesterday is being charged with damaging a police car, not with attempted murder.

I read attempted murder last night.

Do you have a source?

They hate Whitey but will never refuse to take his money, collected and distributed by the state in what are called “taxes.”

“Both of those districts will be decided in large part by suburban women voters, and it would be hard for me to imagine those people aren’t watching this scared, like everybody else, for their family and for their children.”

What a sexist thing to say. Does that mean suburban men have no say? Does that mean women don't already vote for Republicans. Maybe he should have said, "You ain't woman if you don't vote for me (fill-in the Rat name)". POSs like this are the root of the problem, pitting one group against another.

This article from the NY Post is what I based my comment on:

"The woman who allegedly threw a lit Molotov cocktail into an NYPD car full of cops early Saturday has been slapped with a federal charge of damaging a police vehicle — a far cry from the attempted murder charges sought by the NYPD....The NYPD initially pressed for attempted-murder charges against the demonstrator — but federal prosecutors have now taken over the case and assumed custody."

Hopefully the article is incorrect and this terrorist will be hit with the federal charges on top of attempted murder charges.

The Federal charge likely allows the Feds access to her electronic communications *officially* which will allow them to connect the dots to the funders and organizers.

I suspect we will find (literally) a number of national level Democrats actively funding and supporting Antifa.

And I suspect in open cooperation with the Chicoms.

You can figure it out from there.

These people are stupid.

They never thought she would lose.

I haven’t found them. As soon as the news hit, the tone of commenters was quite upset with the cop. I’ve yet to see one comment saying that what happened was not wrong.

I would think that if it had been a white person he might have not been as shocked or frightened. Since he said he watched it occur, I think he saw a black person write this. Every liberal I used to know were terrified of blacks and just wanted to appease them so they didn’t come over and trash their neighborhoods.
