Can a vehicle be turned into a taser? (Vanity)

Seeing cop cars surrounded by thugs makes my blood boil and I am hoping some smart FReeper can engineer a system where the metallic exterior of a car can be electrified to deliver a high voltage, "stune" to anyone touching it. If you can develop and market this idea, make a donation to FR with the profits

Keep reading about these ultra-sonic crowd control devices that make crowds lose control of their bowels. Have yet to hear of it being in action anywhere. Maybe overseas?

Aa a practical matter, no.

Too much surface area, covered by paint.
The body would have to be isolated from all other electrical systems.
Hit you lap-top with a taser, then you will have to replace it.
Same for vehicle electronics.
If thugs learn to short the ZAP system to the vehicle cops would be in deep Doo very quickly.

To do what you are asking a Carbon Fiber body-shell could be made to work.
How much do you want your taxes to go up to pay for that?
And the vehicle still has to pass the standard crash test, EPA, etc. unless given a waiver.

As I see it the only relatively inexpensive way to do this would be an add-on kit.
Isolated elements charged by a cattle prod power supply.
But even it it was available what are the odds some looter is going to conveniently touch that particular car, after being warned by the media, their handlers, and probably a big notice on the car itself?

“Less Leathal” system would be much cheaper and easier.
An armed turret, 40 mm, for Bean Bag, Pepper Balls, tear gas, etc. could be pretty simple.
In the time it took to type this I have the basic design figured out.
Look at my screen name, this is a subject I know.
Pm if you want to start a new company. ;-)

"How about a 'salad spinner' on top"

A lot of good ideas! I can't do it but the smell of fried protester would deter others.

Well I know that when I was a kid some people tired of having their cars broken into would wire capacitors to the door handles, but that was long long ago in the far away time of pre automotive computers and electronics.

Ah, yes, The Brown Note. Haven't heard anything about it in a very long time.
City street cleaners probably objected.

The Model T had an ignition coil that also had breaker contacts built into it. If remember right, you connected the + terminal to the battery + terminal and then had a wire connected to the - side and let the wire drag on the ground. The result was raising the vehicle’s body to a high voltage.

You can but you can get into a lot of trouble. Remember when breaking off hood ornaments for a necklace was popular? I do.

I don't know, but you can mount machine guns on them.

We grow Carolina Reapers. What if you made a spray out of the juice and sprayed the car? Anyone touching the dried juice would experience a very burning sensation on their fingers.
