Memorial day weekend was encouraging: folks out living again. Some in defiance of their pathetic petulant governors and mayors.

I saw at least 4 patients yesterday getting checked for Covid who spent the weekend at the beach. 1 was exposed by a known Covid patient who went to the beach. One went to the beach and her dad who had been sick tested positive the day after she went to the beach.
Out of 48 patients I saw yesterday we checked at least 35 for Covid.
But go ahead, just go out and act like a total moron because you think it’s all a scam.

You cannot show clinical evidence that those people contracted COVID at the beach
So how many tested positive......being checked and being confirmed are 2 different things.
Also Memorial day was just 4 days ago so Thursday(yesterday) was just 48 to 72 hours after Monday depending on the time of day you checked the 4 patient who went to the beach. Was it a fresh water beach or salt water? I assumed they all complained of symptoms or were simply worried?
The one who went to the beach whose dad got confirmed as positive;did she know the dad was positive before she went and if she had would she have quarantined herself?
The 1 who was exposed to a known covid patient; was it that the covid patient went to the beach and exposed one other who also had gone to the beach(in which case that “known” positive covid patient exposed many others and should be charged with assault or even manslaughter should others get sick and die))? Or did the beachgoer go to the beach after she/he knew she/he had been exposed to a covid patient(who did or didn’t go to the beach)? That wasn’t clear to me.
The scamming comes in the deliberate politicalization and obfuscation of the scientific facts of the epidemic. There is so much fog and noise over this issue that people are coming to the conclusion that there will be no quick fix for this disease and that we are going to have to move on as a nation before we destroy ourselves completely as a nation and balance safe practices while moving on with our economic and social enterprises.
The Dem’s are trying to achieve the modern equivalent of having us return to the darkness of primitive caves and quiver in fear of the night hoping that the sun will rise again. What long term gain they hope to get out of that is not certain since they will have gained an electorate that will not move or work when the DEM’s will need them to in order to re-order society. I guess they might achieve a type of North Korea/South Korea situation.
So when you criticize other Freepers as being morons, keep in mind that the true Socialist Morons in this nation have gotten this notion that they should be in charge and that they by virtue of socialism are the smartest on the planet. We will all be true morons if we let that happen!
Now, if the nature of the exchange is different - call it initiated by you - then yes it is better if someone responds to you and references science. It is the nature of the exchange. When the "science" is brought to you, it's a sales job.

So... what argument do you have? People die in car accidents also. Did you drive to work?
35 years ago it took 3-4 years to come up with a test for HIV. It took years and a lot of money to just identify what it was. Today we can do in a matter of weeks what took years back then, and we can do it cheaply. Based purely on the symptoms, 35 years ago, this would have been labeled as a flu, and that would have been the end of it.
This is not the first time a disease like this has washed over us and it won’t be the last. The difference today is our awareness (discovering what has basically been going on all along). It’s like a child with a sore throat that looks in the mirror and sees their own tonsils for the first time.
The only difference between this one and say some of the other scares in the past (Zika, bird/swine flu, West Nile, SARS...) is that today you had a perfect storm where even a virus gets politicized and Washington got involved. Only now are folks beginning to stand in the way of this mass exercise in group think and herd hysteria, primarily because of the economic impact: see Tesla opening back up in defiance of orders etc.
On a beach folks don’t get close (they tend to like their distance naturally). Last I checked, direct sunlight, salt water and heat is not the ideal environment for a virus like this one. What is the logic for closing down a beach? What sort of higher risk does this environment pose? Please explain.

Isn’t the incubation period for this bug around 14 days or so? Wouldn’t that make this week too soon for symptoms to appear?

Please do explain how a place where people naturally tend to distance themselves (people at a beach like to spread out), how UV/sun light, salt water, and heat, where you have no surface where this virus likes to hang out for any amount of time is a bad place to be?

I get why one of those idiotic politicians would want to do that, they just want to “show action” and pretend they accomplished something. Basically just selling themselves by throwing themselves in front of an issue and screaming really loud (now the black leaders are doing that because of the dead boy...), but I’m not talking about those idiots. I want to know from you what the actual logical reason would be to close a beach in order to help stop the spread of this virus?

The normal incubation time is around 5 days. IIRC, 14 days is at the 99.9% certainty level.
That said - if a teen catches this virus, so what? Keep the kid away from any elderly for the next couple of weeks. Done!

-A beach that is warm - hot. Bad for the virus.
-Where you have sunlight (UV). Bad for the virus.
-Have no good surfaces for the virus to live. Bad for the virus.

-Where people naturally tend to spread out (folks at a beach space themselves apart without needing told to do so). Bad for the virus.
Why is that a bad place to be? Seems like the beach is safer than my office or home!

What is the logical-medical-scienfic reason for closing a beach specific to Covid-19 (or whatever else we want to call it)?
The ONLY reasons to close the beach that come to mind are ignorant: (1) Just because someone said to and now we need to follow orders like idiots. (2) To show solidarity and suffer together. (3) Because a politician wants to pretend they accomplished something and made a rule which as often is the case accomplishes nothing but screws with peoples lives. (4) Because the media posed that question in an absurd argument out of outrage: (about this stupid) “Can you believe that while people are starving in Africa they are surfing in NC?”
