A white woman has been caught on camera calling cops and telling them an African American man was threatening her life after he simply asked her to put her dog on a leash in New York's Central Park on Monday. Amy Cooper, 41, has since apologized and has been placed on administrative leave from her job as head of insurance investment solutions at Franklin Templeton pending an investigation into the incident involving bird watcher Christian Cooper, 57. She also returned her dog to a rescue after viewers expressed concern about her treatment of the animal. Late on Monday Amy apologized and said she understands why people may think less of her after viewing the clip. More than 11 million people have viewed the footage.

If the Dude had not videoed the incident, he may have been severely beated by the cops and possibly killed with this “lady” being a proud victim.
If it was me I would have asked him once to stop filming and then break his ####ing camera.
But that’s just me.
As for the guy, he sounds like a sweetheart and he got scared when SHE went over to HIM.
And why say “African American” man?? Do cops respond faster?

The crowd that went admirer her was a bunch of control freak jerks. May they all go to hell (figuratively speaking) together.
Not a good idea to lie to 911 when being recorded. If she had said the man was following and recording her that is one thing. But she had to say he is threatening her, when there is no threat. Also she is the one disobeying a clearly posted sign in a public park.
That said, the Birder probably did not help things by continuing to record the woman after reminding her of the sign. I would get annoyed by someone recording me over the equivalent of a parking ticket. I would also get annoyed by someone offering my pet treats without permission.
However, the woman crossed the line when she lied to 911...

The only aggrieved party in this story is the poor dog...
Im sure she is unmarried because of her mentally ill views no man wants to deal with. The only way a man will overlook these road blocks is if she looked like a Julia Roberts or a multitude of other hot model actresses she is not. She needs to be put on a leash not her dog

It is a weird incident - and I don’t like the way everyone on social media is going after her. The full story is not known, because one does not have the dialogue between them, before the filming started. I agree with you that neither of them seem like agreeable people.

All while holding the dog up by the neck on its collar. Funny how she Uses the pc term “African American” the whole time. I guess the police wouldn’t take “a white guy” as a threat.
Also, if she truly felt threatened, it would take the cops at least 10 minutes to get there I would imagine. Plenty of time for any perp to do as they please. This would give credence to “when seconds count the police are minutes away”. Therefore, “an armed society is a polite society”.
By the way, phone cameras suck. You can’t go anywhere without being filmed. I’ll bet the damage they’ve caused far outweighs the good.
