The politicization of hydroxychloroquine has been one of the most frustrating aspects of Trump Derangement Syndrome during this pandemic. Early studies in France and clinical outcomes from multiple treating physicians using a combination therapy that included the drug provided hope to combat the virus. However, it made President Trump hopeful, so it had to be obliterated.
Crappy studies of the drug given to the most severe patients were touted as proof the president was wrong. Then there was Fish Tank Cleaner Gate. This is the problem with political reporters covering press briefings about a pandemic. They either aren’t provided an internet connection by their employers or are too lazy to do 15 minutes of research.
Now, the NIH has finally announced it will begin a clinical trial using hydroxychloroquine and azithromycin in COVID-19 patients with mild to moderate symptoms. Every clinician who has advocated hydroxychloroquine-azithromycin has said this is the appropriate stage of the disease to use the drug combination. Dr. Vladimir Zelenko began giving it to diagnosed and presumed COVID-19 patients during a severe outbreak in New Rochelle, New York. He started the drug when patients were suffering from mild shortness of breath.
Dr. Anthony Cardillo also explained how he effectively used the drug. His method was to give the medicine with azithromycin and zinc for a specific biological reason. This mineral needs to be added to the NIH trial based on volumes of scientific research on how it works in combination with hydroxychloroquine. Cardillo explained it succinctly:
“It was actually the hydroxychloroquine opening up a channel in the cellular membranes allowing zinc to come into the cells,” he said,

There was major benefit to the zinc if given early.
There was a NYC doctor who said they were scanning regularly with pulse oximeters and that it had saved the life of 2 of his colleagues.
Perhaps it is good then that the French have more zinc in their diet than Americans. This is a good example how medical “studies” load the dice.
If you look at who pays for the studies you can usually predict the outcome before it starts.
If Big Pharma admits to the efficacy of vitamins and minerals, it invites hard questions about many of their products. I expect them to continue to bury the necessity of zinc.
Screw them.Trump should have some famous university perform the tests.
There are zinc supplements on the shelves at our local Fry’s pharmacy.
Lamb, grass fed beef, pumpkin seeds are all a good source of bio active zinc. Hummus (chickpeas) followed by vatious beans aren’t bad either but you need to eat a full serving for your daily value.
3oz of lamb or 4 oz of grass fed beef will do it, so chow down to stock up. And as it’s a food source vitamin you absorb it much more efficiently than sucking on a piece of chain link fence. Which most pills are basically giving you.

If we treated COVID like a medical problem instead of a political matter it would be over in a few weeks. I give the CDC and NIH an “F” for how they’ve handled this, and perhaps being the root cause it because of Fauci funding the Chinese Lab to creat it.
It is very difficult to ascertain the effect of any intervention when multiple factors are involved. All good studies have to control what interventions are used to single out any effect by one specific agent. Using two agents is bad enough. 3 agents...really gonna confuse the situation. Have you spoken to anyone who could set up a study such as you envision? Have you written a proposal to anyone...maybe zinc sulfate tablet manufacturers might pony up the cash. Go for it.

If it were up to ignoreable me, I would suggest that the NIH actually TALK to the doctors everywhere ( I can name at least 5 ) who have successfully treated Covid-19 and ask them WHAT they did to be so successful.
Put them together in a socially distanced room and come up with a formal way of reproducing their results and design a clinical trial accordingly.
Then, try to REPLICATE their protocol FORMALLY on clinical trials -— patient profile, dosage, etc.
These are doctors at the forefront in the battle against the disease, why ignore them and reinvent the wheel?
If that trial is federally funded-at this point based upon what is known about the treatment protocols and the dependency upon zinc-this could construed as “fraud”

There is already is a run on zinc. I have not seen it at any store in more than 4 months!
Try Amazon. I got my last bottle from them a few weeks ago.

So until this is finally approved, why not take the zinc supplement and wash it down with a few gin and tonics (with quinine),,, for medicinal purposes of course.
It may not cure it but it may build up your body’s defenses to fight it off.
