Two men who allegedly refused to wear masks inside a Target store in California are facing felony battery charges after a fight that left an employee security guard with a broken arm, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

The suspects were not wearing face coverings when they entered the store's Van Nuys location on May 1, and were confronted by store employees, police said in a statement released on Monday. They were being escorted out of the store when the fight broke out, police said in a statement released on Monday.

It’s astounding!

And if we saved just one child’s life, then it will all have been worth it... ;)

> I’m not empathizing with Target <

I am. Regardless of how silly the rules might be, it’s their store. If you don’t like the rules, don’t shop there. The same goes for folks who complain about Walmart’s checking of receipts. If you think that’s intrusive, don’t shop there. Go somewhere else. Or shop online at Amazon.

“They government has decided to completely alter life here for an unjustified reason.”

In what section of the Constitution is Target defined?

I don’t think he said that. With all due respect, I think you can take what he said at face value.

This is where people really need to get over their crap. Look I get it, the mask thing is mostly stupid, I’m not into it. But the stores have made decisions. Good bad, it’s their decision. While I’m not wearing a mask I do bring one when I go into retail land I bring one in case. So far nobody has insisted. So yea for me. But don’t take it out on the employee, he’s not making the policy, he’s just got the crappy minimum wage job of enforcing it. If you don’t want to mask then go elsewhere.

First it was masks to buy food, then you must get a vaccine, then micro-chipping.

You see where this is going folks?

Target wants employees to stop shoplifting and they have security in the stores wearing the same red shirts (see Star Trek) as the cashiers. But they provide no training in the use of physical force, self-defense, or equipment. Someone is in the store security office watching monitors.

It’s all bluff and bluster. For those interested in stealing (Californians especially), enter the store when smaller security staff are on duty. They will follow you to the parking lot to get your license plate number. Police will not respond unless it’s a very slow day or they are at the dunkin donuts on the edge of the parking lot. Change cars or switch license plates when you clear the area.

I’m not empathizing with Target

There's no love lost between me and Target, but I do believe they have the right to set rules for entry into their stores.

I just went to Walmart this morning and employees were not ordering customers to wear a mask. Some did, some didn’t. However, all the employees were wearing masks. It was a very serene shopping experience.

I wore a mask for the first time yesterday. Unbeknownst to me, residents of King County (Washington) are now required to wear them. I've been carrying one for a few weeks, just in case a store required them, so I had it with me.

Despite the new rule, the Fred Meyer store near me was not enforcing it, and I was not the only one without a mask. I only heard about the mask requirement on my way out of the store, when I passed a newsstand and saw the headline announcing it.

The Fred Meyer garden center was completely cleaned out of tomato plants, so I went to an independent nursery nearby. That nursery has its own mandatory mask rule, so I had to don my mask before entering. I found the mask (homemade by my girl friend) to be a bit hot and claustrophobic, but I was at least able to get my tomato plants.

I agree. Regardless of whether it increases safety, a lot of people believe that wearing masks keeps them safe enough to shop. If they did not "feel" safe, they may not shop at all. For all I know, Target may think the masks are a joke; but they will assure their customers that everyone will wear one to keep the customers coming. Assholes who don't comply should get the boot. The two violent fools who started the fracas in the video should go to jail.

Yes, it’s extremely clear.

6 weeks ago we were PROMISED millions of deaths here in the USA.

That outlandish claim is only surpassed by how incredibly hyped all of this has been. But has that stopped the Govt?

The State can't have it both ways.

If it's Target's store and they say you wear a mask or leave, how does the State fine a baker and remove their license for not baking a wedding cake?

If it's a store (or Texas hairdressing salon) and the owner says that you can come in without a mask and those who don't like it can shop elsewhere, how does the State throw the owner in jail?

These Statists have violated inalienable rights clearly defined in the Constitution and the individuals here are caught up in it.

The State may have the right to quarantine sick individuals but confining the healthy is tyranny.

Any business that “deputizes” its employees to throw out customers is not worth patronizing.

Especially the way I’ve observed people wearing them. Like removing them to speak. Like wearing them without a good seal to the face so air runs past the gaps. Or using masks made of a material that simply will not stop the virus from passing through in during an inhale.

To many it’s a fashion statement similar to statements of wealth being the yacht or large estate. Those without the masks are lesser people.

I can see how they’d stop large particles containing the virus existing an infected person.
