Some areas of New York state will be allowed to reopen Friday, beginning the “next big step in this historic journey,” Gov. Andrew Cuomo (D) announced Monday.
Three upstate regions will be allowed to reopen in a phased manner after meeting metrics laid out by the state government, Cuomo said. But areas of the state that have been hardest hit by COVID-19, including New York City and Long Island, have not yet met those requirements as of Monday.
“In my point of view, we’re on the other side of the mountain,” Cuomo said during a news conference. “We have abated the worst by what we’ve done, and now we can intelligently turn toward reopening.”
The phased approach allows construction, manufacturing and wholesale supply chain businesses to reopen Friday in regions that meet several requirements. Some retail outlets can reopen if they offer curbside pickup.
Businesses that reopen must screen workers, follow social distancing requirements, adjust workplace hours to avoid crowding and follow strict cleaning and sanitation guidelines. Some employees will also have to wear masks.
Cuomo said regions must scale restrictions back up if COVID-19 infection and hospitalization rates increase.

Well, he’s doing in the babies and he’s killed off a bunch of old people in nursing homes.
I’m guessing special needs persons who live in group homes.
They cost the state money, too.

This nothing but dictator ship. Picking an choosing who and when based on no logical or scientific reason. One business is in luck and another one is SOL just because they say so.
Plus it sounds like they are going to get DNA samples from every employee if they want to work.
There there is the rent/landlord issues. No state has taken such unlawful steps in destroying even the smallest of landlords.
This state needs to be sued into oblivion, but there are no law firms brave enough to do it. Because the Italian Mafia group runs the state and they get revenge on anyone who crosses them.
Do not praise NY state or Cuomo. This is a sham.
This asshole doesn’t realize most of the state is forestland and farms with pockets of people in a dozen smaller cities, with the exception being. New York City area.
Saw on our Fox channel out of Birmingham tonight that they are now saying that the heat and hot weather of the summer will not stop this virus. Now we will be told we are all going to die unless we listen to them and stay locked down, etc. Nope, no heat will destroy the virus. We are doomed. We are dead. Lets all order our coffins, cause we are toast folks!!!

We’re supposed to be happy and grateful that Benito is easing the pressure of his jackboot ever so slightly off of our necks. He’s pure evil.
It’s not a turnaround. Most small buz still can’t open their doors. And small biz still don’t know what they have to do to let customers on the premises when they can open their doors. And the liability plan is an even bigger issue. Nobody knows what the heck “develop liability processes” really means.
Most small biz still afloat will not be making enough money during Phase 1 to stay that way for long if at all.
