A host of celebrities and scientists including Madonna, Robert de Niro and a clutch of Nobel Prize winners have called for radical change in the world rather than 'a return to normal' after the coronavirus lockdowns.
Hollywood stars Cate Blanchett, Jane Fonda, Marion Cotillard and Monica Bellucci also added their names to the open letter published in the French daily Le Monde.
The signatories are pleading for an end to unbridled consumerism and a 'radical transformation' of economies to help save the planet.
The movement has been penned and led by actress Juliette Binoche and astrophysicist Aurélien Barrau.
A full list of the 200 signatories is published in this article (below).

They want everybody living in dull gray cinderblock apartments, never owning a car, walking to work in dull gray sackcloth clothes, nobody ever smiling, everybody furtively casting suspicious glances at others, eating dull gray slop, leading dull gray lives, and dying at age 33.
Everybody but them, of course.
Mainly a lot of foreigners I don’t recognize and the ones I do are already on my excrement list. All a bunch of 1 percenters kicking down, pathetic and evil bastards.
When they have given away all their money and sold all their worldly possessions, then I might listen.
For yo and me, not for themselves.
from the material girl herself
this stuff has to be made up.....is this from the onion?
Oh, this is rich!
They can go first.
These Marxists have completely exposed their true identities. Indeed, let’s not return to normal and we can start by abandoning Hollywood and the elitist Communists that regard the rest of us with contempt.
I read headlines and am often surprised they are from the media and not The Babylon Bee.
With the “animation” technology of today, I think movie companies should just start making movies like that and not pay these people who call themselves actors...
We need to stop putting these people on a pedestal. We can act in ways that help to prevent these types of people from becoming rich. Don't go to movies when they first come out. Pay a little as possible or nothing at all for their entertainment. As a consumer, demand cheap entertainment. Cheat the entertainment system as much as possible so they ultimately lose money.
“Dance, Monkeys, Dance!”
Have they even walked around their own houses?
How bout those rich communists.
They should sell all that they have and give it to the poor....
Two hundred “celebrities” wow, well that’s it; I’m in. Where do I get my Nehru suit and hand mower? F%^K these morons.
No.
They have people for that.
“Stop Consumerism?!”
OK, I will not consume anything the 200 of you produce!
Gee, that is so hard!
Like the $150,000/yr judge in Texas telling an unemployed woman she’s “selfish” for wanting to go back to work so she can have money to feed her children, and then fining her $7,000 and throwing her in jail, even as they let the real criminals OUT of jail. Leftism is Satanism.
Did they urge an end to consumerism from their multi million dollar mansions, their Ferraris and Limos, their yachts or their private jets?
