Have you ever heard of Arm Knitting?
I have a project on my ‘One Of These Days’ List.
I plan to create a wall hanging using the Arm Knitting technique. I like the idea, because the yard used for this method is very thick. Think of a string of yarn the size of a Polish Sausage.
I won’t do anything elaborate first few times I experiment.
The yarn may be expensive. All I picture is a 4 ft x 2 ft Scroll made of Arm-Knitted Loops.
A light beige wall sculpture hanging on a light beige wall.
I would like the texture and the shadows.
***One of these days.
There is a Jo Ann Fabrics a city or two away. I’ll go there.
Thanks for your Fiber Arts thread.
Are there any quilters here willing to take on a project as the economy reopens? Maybe a consignment thing?
Hello everyone, please add me to the ping list. I stuff and sew dolls for charity, for the historical society.
I can make some art if I get enough fiber...

I have been hand-sewing lace onto netting for my daughter’s bridal veil. Wedding has now been postponed (was 5/23). I still need to shorten her dress, which will involve a lot of handwork. The BRIGHT SIDE: While my sewing machine stayed at her house for several weeks, she got to experimenting with it, and BOUGHT ONE for herself! I got mine back today, and am excited that she now has the bug.
My husband had a severe health crisis (not COVID-19) 3 weeks ago, so life has been in even more turmoil since then, but he’s recovering now, and hopefully will be home in a couple more weeks. I might try to squeeze in a sewing project (just a top for myself?) while he’s away, because it is therapeutic for me, but working full-time, keeping up the yard work, and visiting him is making time hard to come by (and I really need to finish the veil, before staring anything new).
Thanks for this thread, Diana.
In our area, we are not mandated to wear masks. My personal choice, from doing reading/research & from a comfort level, is not to wear one, but that’s a choice people need to make for themselves, unless there’s a mandate in place.
That being said, if you want to wear one or need to, or know people who need masks, here is a link to some crochet masks. Also, there is a pattern for “ear savers” - they connect to the loops that go behind the ears & then use the back of the head as the “pressure point”, thus saving sore ears. These ear savers are very much in demand & would make a nice gift, even in non-pandemic times, for those who wear masks regularly.
