Corona Virus Daily Thread #49 COVID-19 4/30/2020
I'm afraid you're right about this after reading a number flubro threads - it's research, right. Anyhow, I came away after reading some of the comments better understanding the recent spike in case numbers.
There's no fixin' stupid. Now flubros are complaining about attention to a pertent fact that more Americans died from the coronavirus in just two months than died during the entire Vietnam war. Somehow doing so denigrates war dead, following by numerous comparisons with other causes of death - I suppose because more have now died in two months than died during the worst flu season in recent years, the 2017-18 flu season.
They're going to need another slogan. It's just the flu is no longer valid.
Next time ask her if she requires her sexual partners to wear condoms. The answer would be enlightening, no doubt.
It has been very disturbing to see our allies make fools of themselves.
The left has always been crazy, now we have to deal with a crazy right as well....
The old economy was dead from the day we saw China spraying streets with disinfectant. Trying to keep it going will cost lives. Many more than if we rebuild the economy to the new norm.

“People who are saying it escaped from a lab have no idea what they’re talking about... No human could ever design this virus,” BuzzFeed News quotes a Columbia University microbiology & immunology scientist. “I think it’s driven by politics, frankly.” http://xhne.ws/pq0Fw

Those absolute statements these horrible defenders of gain in function research are spewing forth, actually just label them as liars or charlatans. There are hundreds of scientists in the field who petitioned to stop all gain in function research.
What "new norm"? What the heck are you even talking about?

I tried to put in an order with Walmart and had half of it cancelled. I’ve been working on it for two days trying to get what we need but every time I hit the order button, it cancels the important needed items that it just said it had during the “shopping” portion. Anyone else having this problem?
This is the first time I’ve ever tried the curbside pickup so we can avoid going inside. Is it just me or this service a joke? As you all know, I make most meals from scratch so only tried to order the basics. Are there really no pantry items out there?
When I was a kid we had logs. Not legos. It appears that the Chinese must have been stung real bad. Showing their true high school level of intellect is not something they usually do. Perhaps they can employ the newly animated leader of North Korea. He utilizes a much higher level of intellect in his insults.
Still in denial. Not my job to educate you.
Agree. There must be significant differences in strains. Seattle's weather isn't that sunny, at times, and Washington state, despite being the location of the first deaths, isn't having the problem NYC is having.
If you look at it from a biological warfare angle, it begins to make sense tho. NYC is a prime target city - the most deadly strains would be deployed there, along with deployments at other strategic cities, military installations (which are being kept out of the news), naval installations and ports-o-call, etc.
Less deadlier strains could serve to inoculate an attackers own population as well as create a smoke screen that hides such an attack and deployment of more lethal strains in strategic locations like those I've listed above.
It can all be explained away by natural mutations of the virus of course - leaving an enemy blameless, especially if the country it planned to attack had helped fund the research for development of such a virus as happened in this case.
Then their are those who would be inclined to take advantage of the situation, Islamic terrorists come to mind, by becoming super-spreading martyrs for Allah. And let's not rule out those who think there are too many people living on planet earth now. Some have known connections with the very scientists suspected of creating this novel corona virus.
I keep thinking that this is as close to a perfect weapon for taking down a country like America, as can be imagined. We have many powerful countries and people with the means to pull something like this off, who want to see America fall, each with their own reasons.
Exactly - why not stay in their lane - Obama!
Saturday afternoon is rough with walmart inventory. Lots of things selling out because people are doing their weekly shopping/pickup.
We had better availability when we checked out after midnight/early morning. Try to place your order after they have stocked (10PM or later) and try to pick it up as early as you can. Doesn’t have to be the same night/morning.
This is the same for Kroger too. Better odds you’ll get what you’ve ordered if you pick it up before noon.
YMMV, of course.
“I am convinced the Flu Bro mindset is being fostered and fed by nefarious sources.”
The same source that is providing social media memes. Most likely the Chinese propaganda office to keep Americans divided.
The Chinese were not planning on Trump shutting down travel from China. That would have hit the West coast with a second larger wave. With the more deadly strain. The Chinese deployed every trick and every spy and every bot and every paid for stooge to stop Trump from doing that. Wonder what the flu bros position was back then ? We can guess, I guess. Lol.
