The House of Vettii, one of the largest in Pompeii, was named for its two owners, Aulus Vettius Conviva and Aulus Vettius Restitutus. It contains a great many frescoes which have been rediscovered after Pompeii was destroyed in the volcanic explosion of 79 AD.
I've also uploaded my Blooper reel made for IBM Research's 25th anniversary of Computer Science. Quick and dirty, done in the middle of the night, it's a humorous class in how to make a video. While my boss' video played on one TV, this one had an audience stacked 8 deep in front of another TV.
And I'm started to remake my Alias videos to upgrade the video quality. First one is Song for the Asking for Sydney and her fiance Danny, who was killed because she told him she was a spy.

Watch David Gilmore play “Run Like Hell” in Pompeii 2016. Make sure you watch the ending.

Even though Pompeii was a terrible event the people had a few days to escape. The city was mostly empty by the time the major eruption started and by then it was too late for the stragglers.
Most people don’t recall that neighboring ‘Herculaneum’ was allso wiped out.
“... the sighting of a column of smoke ... triggered a response more of curiosity than of alarm...”
“... there were warnings of the eruption of Vesuvius.”

One of my regrets is not making it to Pompeii. I was in Naples but there was an earthquake and Pompeii was closed for about 10 years. They were supposed to be starting flights from Granada to Naples in the fall but who knows what’s going to happen now.
Thanks mairdie and BenLurkin. I kinda love the H of the V, atypical layout, sold near the end of its useful to a couple of freedmen, porno wall paintings in the kitchen (cook's quarters), two atriums, homeowners owed money to a banker a few houses down...
from a sort of walk-through of the House, starting with the restored garden in the peristyle.
