Letter to the President
Self | 26 April 2020 | Me

Posted on 04/26/2020 8:07:43 AM PDT by captain_dave

Dear Mr. President,

You've been snookered by the "experts". President Nixon was snookered by the "experts" when they convinced him to order wage and price controls. The "experts" will always give disastrous advice because they rely on models, and no model can yet accurately predict a living system.

Climate models can't predict next year's climate because climate models are based on limited variables and a closed system. The Earth is not a closed system. Nor is the Solar System. We can, at best, guess at future climates and weather based on past experience, but we should always be humble and conservative in our guesses.

Epidemiology models can also be flawed, especially when a disease is not well understood. And if a disease is not well understood, then "expert" predictions must be cautiously considered.

We were spooked by China's response to Covid-19. They quarantined an entire province. We were convinced the disease was like the second coming of the Black Death. So we shut down society and readied our hospitals; we cleared the decks and prepared for action.

However, now we see the disease is not necessarily more deadly than the seasonal flu. Or, perhaps, our initial preparation ameliorated its affect. It is now time to "secure from general quarters", and return to normal. The people know it. The people demand it.

The people don't need "experts" to reopen America. The people already know how to walk, talk, and chew bubble gum. We just need our governments to get out of the way.

Sincerely,

I really think he needs to get a away from Fauci and Birx and maybe do on a little tour around the nation and really see what Americans are going through under this shutdown without the filter of those two imbecilic doctors translating everything for him!

I don’t blame the two doctors for any of this. I however blame:

China
our Media
‘Rats

The ‘Rats have done everything they can to make this worse, including hiding supplies, asking for unnecessary ventilators, willing to close a drive through tulip farm but won’t close the NYC subway system or NJ Trains, all of this so they can spend the next few months with their media blaming Trump for all the decisions they made.

‘I do believe a majority of this will be blamed on Trump and we will lose big in November”

This statement is highly deficient.

The impossible obstacle facing the dems right now is convincing people that any of this is Trump’s fault, and that he acted wrongly.

Americans agreed with Trump in shutting down the economy.

Nobody is going to think, “Trump, you and I were both wrong on this, so I’m voting against you.”

The whole thing is win-win for Trump.

How do the democrats have the upper hand, when all they have are lies, falsehoods and fake news?

Those things only work, long term, on about 30% of the voters.

I agree, all plans were bad for us.

Partial Shut Down, social distancing was the best plan of a really shiatty problem, its saves the most lives, stops the rapid spread and allows the economy, hopefully to recover over the next 3-4 years.

Letting it rip would have gotten way more sick, more deaths and would have caused the economy to collapse and possible mass civil unrest. I don’t think this would have been the “solution” we would want even though some here actually believe the entire economy wouldn’t have been effected? Can you run a business if a majority of your employees are getting sick, going to the hospital and pass away?

Nobody is calculating the costs of letting it rip and of course our hospital resources, the death and carnage will be in the millions, and the cost to the economy would be in the trillions

There could have been a third option, more targeted approach, but we were past that since someone in the CDC screwed up the test kits. But that option went away once the Iranian Woman (I believe a plant) had the virus and was all over the subway system

Why is the NYC Subway system still operating?

No problem, we can agree to disagree here.

I blame Fauci and Birx for a lot of this. Their bogus death projections based on these bogus models (2.2. million, and later 100K-240K death projections) were dead wrong, and prompted the bogus shutdown we’re now living through!

And now it’s beginning to look like more and more Americans have had this virus, recovered, and now have the antibody, which in turn is going to lower the death rate percentage of this bug to similar numbers as influenza. And we shut down a 22 trillion dollar economy over this?

This is a scam of epic proportions, and whether knowingly, or unknowingly, Fauci and Birx helped promote it!

They don’t care about long term, it is always short term, the short term, they have the upper hand, people care about now, not 5 years from now

When you are out of work, business shut down/bankruptcy, when you lost your house, when you lost your loved ones, you care about now, not what is going to happen in 2027

So yes, the ‘Rats have the upper hand right now, in the short term, the election is only less then 7 months away

I think the doctors and nurses in the ERs in the NYC area who just had their hospitals overwhelmed because measures were not in place until it was too late might disagree with you.

....

So, just because NYC hospitals had high numbers of patients, we shutdown the rest of the nation? Other than NYC, hospitals around the nation have been ghost towns! These hospitals canceled all elective surgeries and other treatments to accommodate the “flooding of the system” with COVID-19 patients which NEVER HAPPENED!

We are crashing our 22 trillion dollar economy for a bug, which it looks like in the end, will have the same death rate percentage as Influenza!

This was an epic scam! The Democrats, Fake News, and World Leftists are high-fiving each other at how easy this has been! Fear and hysteria never foster good decisions.

Whenever you see a situation with complicated prediction models, you also have lots of room for bias to masquerade as reason.

So not enough people died to your liking? Honestly, I am glad their models were off, but it did get us prepared for it and that is why the 2 million + figure didn’t happen.

I don’t know how an economy can function if 2 million people drop dead and 10s of millions are out sick and 100s of millions are scared and panicked. Our economy was toast once this thing was brought here. The question was how do we mitigate it? And that is what President Trump is doing.

Whether President Trump chose the right Political answer, that has yet to be seen, but I believe he chose the best solution of a really bad situation.

Plus this isn’t the flu bro, stop comparing it to the flu.

I am a Trump fan..but not happy with current circumstances..who is? Still..how are you instrumental in 26 million losing their jobs and not have some blow back. I mean..really?

“and that is why the 2 million + figure didn’t happen”

where are your facts and proof of that?

sure i agree it helped a little, but no way to say we would have ever got to 2 million dead without shut downs.

so many other factors for who dies and who doesn’t for those who get this CV19.

shut downs as they are, were largely not needed. masks and washing hands etc i agree with a lot more than the shut downs.

” and no model can yet accurately predict ...”

The problem with the use of models by our high profile experts is that don’t tell us what the model is assuming and how it reaches its conclusions. These things could be explained in layman’s terms but aren’t. Perhaps we’d find out that the data fed into them is highly questionable.

Sweden, the party is just starting over there. The “No lockdoown” country, started shutting down bars and dance halls because of the virus.

The next 14 days are going to look really grim for them.

It helped a lot, tons, it makes sense to keep sick people and potentially sick people away from non infected people. This makes sense. Now if Cuomo did his job and had his health department do contact tracing and quarantine everyone in contact with that Iranian woman, NYC would be in a better spot. But Cuomo again, failed to do his elected duty.

Yeah, that's it, I wanted more people to die! Did you actually read my quote that you quoted back to me? Let's try this again:

I blame Fauci and Birx for a lot of this. Their bogus death projections based on these bogus models (2.2. million, and later 100K-240K death projections) were dead wrong, and prompted the bogus shutdown we’re now living through!

Drs. Fauci and Birx touted the 2.2 million, and then 100K-240K US, Coronavirus death predictions knowing they were bogus and way overinflated! These numbers were if we didn't do anything. We were NEVER going to NOT do anything! They put these trash numbers out knowing it would create hysteria and fear, and would have the potential to shut our economy down. Voilà...mission accomplished!

In just 6 or so weeks, all the economic gains we made since 2016 are gone! People have lost their businesses, jobs, homes and have had their lives devastated over this manufactured crisis!

Why don't you go explain this to the people around the nation who've had their lives destroyed for nothing! BTW, did you happen to use your job, or business?

Excellent! I have been sending notes to the President for weeks re deep state Fauci and his allies at CNN and MSNBC, and the irresponsible state and federal parks closings. Unfortunately, he’s been hoodwinked for months and is just now slowly wising up. Many $trillions too late.

He should have one final press conference on the matter, stand back and simply say, “Now it’s up to the American public to decide your fate on this matter. Enjoy the sunshine and smell the roses.”
