I think the doctors and nurses in the ERs in the NYC area who just had their hospitals overwhelmed because measures were not in place until it was too late might disagree with you.

So, just because NYC hospitals had high numbers of patients, we shutdown the rest of the nation? Other than NYC, hospitals around the nation have been ghost towns! These hospitals canceled all elective surgeries and other treatments to accommodate the “flooding of the system” with COVID-19 patients which NEVER HAPPENED!
We are crashing our 22 trillion dollar economy for a bug, which it looks like in the end, will have the same death rate percentage as Influenza!
This was an epic scam! The Democrats, Fake News, and World Leftists are high-fiving each other at how easy this has been! Fear and hysteria never foster good decisions.
Wrong. I am using NYC as an example.
What I am saying is NYC and NY state had no idea what they were dealing with in January and February. Once the Feds and the State realized what was going on by mid March and shut things down it was to late. The hospitals were completely overwhelmed and they needed help big time.
It took us, yes us, to follow the public health measures to help reduce the R number below 1 and that saved a lot of lives and the hospitals in NYC.
That example showed you and all the rest of you that if you do absolutely nothing, you will end up exactly like NYC with hospitals overwhelmed.
NYC was not an epic scam. If it was I might suggest you go visit all the doctors and nurses in NYC and see what they have to say.
Now, we have finally got a handle on all this, we are starting to get some awesome testing (thanks to the Trump administration and business), we are setting up tracking and tracing and hopefully we have some possible therapies. During this phase of setting these items up, we need to be extremely careful opening up the countries in the world.
Trump’s plan, I think, is a reasonable and effective strategy to follow to get us going again. Just opening things up means we all go back to what happened in NYC.
