A technique that zaps airborne viruses with a narrow-wavelength band of UV light shows promise for curtailing the person-to-person spread of COVID-19 in indoor public places.
The technology, developed by Columbia Universitys Center for Radiological Research, uses lamps that emit continuous, low doses of a particular wavelength of ultraviolent light, known as far-UVC, which can kill viruses and bacteria without harming human skin, eyes and other tissues, as is the problem with conventional UV light.

Its called a PUVA Booth. They are everywhere. Every Dermatologist has one.
“Columbia University just told all Americans to shove fluorescent light bulbs up their butt.”
(This is how the Mainstream Media would have reported this story if Trump had announced the study.)
I guess that the coronavirus task force no longer needs the services of “doctors” birx and fauci
I just replaced my 26 year old HVAC system and i bought the hospital grade air purifier system with the new HVAC system. It uses UV, so I was ahead of the curve. Just installed in on February 15th.
If science doesn’t fit the media narrative, it is ignored.
Remember how Pat Michaels, Virginia State climatologist, was fired when he started to question “hockey stick” anthropogenic global warming models?
And grants are ONLY given for studies that fit the narrative.
You are right to bring up the infamous hockey stick for global warming.
The best thing going for us is that we have states and areas doing their own thing and while some authoritative types might be wishing for them to fail, they will mostly be successful providing a real counterpoint to “conventional wisdom” that cannot be ignored.
You answered a question I hadn’t even asked yet. I imagine this would be invaluable in public places and businesses.
What’s being used in dermatologist office is UV light, but it’s not far-UVC, according to my understanding.
It is a known from days past that UV-C, specifically 254nm, destroys pathogens.
Good luck finding the LED’s to build your own unless you have the capability to do SMD’s.
UVA in public spaces in only half of the story. Cedar Sini is working on technology to put UVA inside the body as the President insightfully alluded to, which was met instantly by the entire press and media with typical snarky chortles. Nothing changes with the media attack hounds. Yesterday’s, ‘no questions’ presser indicates where POTUS is going with regard to the propaganda hounds.

Simply bring back UBI.
they claim their limited-frequency UV does not cause the skin damage that normal full-spectrum UV does.
if so, this could be a super game changer
IIRC, the food industry uses UV light to kill germs on fruits and vegetables.
This guy, David Brenner, was promoting the use of UV light a few years back

somehow lil Fauci and the scarf missed his reasearch
There are quite a number of after market UV devices for home HVAC (or furnace) on Amazon. Also stand alone UV air purifiers. There was a $29 UV bulb that sterilizes a room (remote on/off timer, no room occupancy during high UV output). The information for that one was an obvious Chinese translation.
I was unaware of that climatologist firing. Oregon did the same thing to it’s climatologist. The governor even removed the position to insure future compliance.
I wonder how many climatologist were fired before the rest got the message?
$29 on Amazon.
What’s the brand name of the UV a/c purifier system, please?
