Bill Gates Praises China’s Response to Coronavirus, Slams U.S.

Flu season was pretty much over when CCP-19 really got going, anyway.
I’d say that the flu deaths called CCP-19 are more than offset by the CCP-19 deaths that were called flu.
If we had the same level of mitigation for the flu there wouldn’t be much of a flu season at all. Or a cold season. Or a [enter your favorite communicable disease here] season.
for sure. And washing your hands works on them all - no need to guess which strain will be prevalent.
There was a thread on another site back when the lockdowns began in Italy that surmised IF we could adequately prepare from a governmental and societal standpoint, a 40 day lockdown *everywhere* could eliminate most airborne respiratory diseases and possibly many other diseases besides. And the *trillions* of dollars that would be saved from time off work, hospitalizations, vaccinations, etc over the subsequent decades.
Imagine life with no colds, no flu, no bronchitis, no viral pneumonia or (insert respiratory disease) ever again.
It would be like life without smallpox. We don’t even think about smallpox anymore except in passing mention...our ancestors feared smallpox and couldn’t conceive of a life without that fear.
Imagine how the FluBros would react to someone proposing *that*. World-wide mandatory lockdown for 40 days. They’d be out deliberately spreading to insure “that it would never happen again”.
More likely ... a vaccine for ALL viruses!
I’ve posted a couple of articles of one in trial for covid that could do that- or not. It’s in trial... and I wouldn’t use it until it had been very well tested. Too big a deal LOL!
Smallpox is the only vaccine that ever eliminated a virus.
And its own marketability and reason to exist.
Pharma will never allow that to happen again.

Thanks for the pings!
Went through the dentist hygienists thing on local news. (Predicted this over a month ago).
Next up. Mosquitoes
I thought so.
It would require a GREAT DEAL of prior planning.
But imagine the productivity gains if no one were ever sick again with the ‘out 3 days with this virus’, ‘out a week with this other virus’, ‘got this other virus had to go on antibiotics’ and ‘spent 3 days in the hospital with pneumonia from this danged virus’...
Imagine the difference in daycares...and nursing homes.
Imagine the trillions that are spent on cold meds, antibiotics, doctors visits, days out...
but then someone eats monkey feet soaked in bat lard with noodles and bam!
Basically it’s kinda true. Quarantine prevents the spread of other things too. How this impacts other issues, like car wreaks, STDs, joggers having heart attacks and unnecessary hospital visits.
So everyone world wide should get the winter off.

“Speed is of the essence here & as soon as it got a whiff of a virus in China, Vietnam moved fast to close borders, developed testing & wasted no time despite being dependent on China for trade & investment. Didnt listen to the WHO to not restrict & the no human-to-human nonsense “
Promptness!
Very good job by ‘Nam - mostly because they distrust China.

Not a vaccine apparently, but a treatment. For all viruses.
Has had some human clinical testing. In the petri dish stage of covid testing now.
What ‘gets’ me about this is it’s dealing in very deep matters. Would want side-effects very well tested.
Yeah, pharma would be most upset, and would let their bought politicians know.

Reuters report of their interview with the president.
I’m the same!
Funny thing though is that they’ve already had human clinical trials that showed it’s safe.
Take a lot of trials to convince me. Messing with very deep basic things here.
