China’s acting like a 15yo juvenile delinquent. They think they are ‘on par’ with the USA (superior to) and so they can throw their bully weight around nations, like they do with their slave citizens.

Airborne Coronavirus Detected in Wuhan Hospitals
https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/world/airborne-coronavirus-detected-in-wuhan-hospitals/ar-BB13kV91
Kenneth Chang

“Adding to growing evidence that the novel coronavirus can spread through air, scientists have identified genetic markers of the virus in airborne droplets, many with diameters smaller than one-ten-thousandth of an inch.

“Dr. Marr and many other scientists say evidence is mounting that the coronavirus is being spread by tiny droplets known as aerosols. The World Health Organization has so far downplayed the possibility, saying that the disease is mostly transmitted through larger droplets that do not remain airborne for long, or through the touching of contaminated surfaces.

“Even with the new findings, the issue is not settled. Although the coronavirus RNA — the genetic blueprint of the virus — was present in the aerosols, scientists do not know yet is whether the viruses remain infectious or whether the tests just detected harmless virus fragments.”

3 children in New York treated for rare inflammatory condition linked to coronavirus
...
“The children, between 6 months and 8 years old, all suffered a fever and inflammation of the heart and gut, according to Reuters. One is in critical condition, one is in intensive care and one has recovered.

Gorelik said he was brought in to determine if the children have Kawasaki disease, which can cause inflammation of the arteries of the heart.

He said the cases are likely not Kawasaki disease but have “very similar features.”

“It seems a week to two weeks [after contracting the virus], you may have the immune system responding in a very disorganized way,” he said.

Matt Hancock, the U.K.’s health secretary, said Tuesday that some of the children who died had no underlying conditions. These cases were documented in Italy and Britain, according to Reuters.”

JetBlue seeks to suspend service to Atlanta

“But in April, JetBlue said it cut back its Atlanta schedule from 10 flights a day to less than two flights a day. The Atlanta-Boston route had only eight customers in one direction and four customers in the other direction April 20, according to JetBlue, which told the DOT the service “is not sustainable.”

Coronavirus treatment hope in form of an antiviral drug taken as a nasal spray as lab tests show it ‘blocks the deadly virus from latching on to lung cells’
- was able to both treat SARS-CoV-2 and prevent new infections in a lab
- University of St Andrews researchers say it could be given as a nasal spray
- Drug binds to sugar molecules on virus and blocks it from entering human cells

Virus-related food shortages will be temporary in U.S., experts say

Amid predictions of global famine, American consumers will see disruptions until the economy is back online.

Tim Hearden | Apr 29, 2020

...

Some meat shortages can be expected in the next few months, said Steve Groff, a Pennsylvania-based farmer and cover crop expert who has worked to improve nutrition in the developing world.

Americans are accustomed to a “just in time” food system that has now been significantly disrupted, and some commodities such as tomatoes can’t just be stored on the shelf for a few weeks until things get sorted out, he noted. That said, Groff doesn’t anticipate shortages in vegetables, he said.

“I don’t think there’s going to be any widespread famine, but I do thin there will be sporadic, intermittent food shortages with certain things,” Groff said. “Meat is the obvious thing right now. I’m telling people the next time they go to the grocery store, buy a little extra hamburger … If you have a freezer, fill it up.”

Antibody test approved for use across Europe - 99% Accuracy
Today, 07:42 AM

A new antibody test to check whether someone has been infected with coronavirus which claims to be 99 per cent accurate has been certified for use across Europe.

Global diagnostics specialists Abbot, which has a UK base in Maidenhead, has said it is expecting to have shipped millions of the laboratory based lab tests across Europe by the end of May.

The company’s diagnostic test has been given a CE Mark certification showing it complies with EU safety rules and can now be used in labs across the UK to test for antibodies created when a person has been infected with Covid-19.

The test identifies the IgG protein the body produces when it has been infected by coronavirus and this can remain in the body for months and possibly years.

In tests Abbot claimed it showed a sensitivity greater than 99 per cent, 14 days after a person developed symptoms.

People need to rememeber that there grocery store has emptier shelves because they haven’t been ordering without normal custmer flow. People stocked up before s a lot fewer shoppers these past weeks.

So expect selections to be less and less stock until things pick up..

When I go out I always swab my nose with colloidal silver before and after. I figure it can't hurt.

LOL, ...’if you have a freezer’...

Need to ask around if any of the big box stores have any in stock. Looks like you can’t order them online anymore at home depot or lowes.

So far Germany has manage it pretty well compare to the rest of Europe and New York.

Maybe the US State Governors need to take notes from Germany.

The good news we have two available treatments that appear to work against the Virus. We are in better shape then we were a month ago.

‘Second-week crash’ is time of peril for some covid-19 patients
https://www.washingtonpost.com/health/second-week-crash-is-time-of-peril-for-some-covid-19-patients/2020/04/29/3940fee2-8970-11ea-8ac1-bfb250876b7a_story.html

By Lenny Bernstein and Ariana Eunjung Cha
April 29 at 1:11 PM

“For people who suffer the most severe reactions to the novel coronavirus — and their caregivers — the second week of the disease can become a time of sudden peril and heightened concern, when some of those who seem stable or mending can suddenly become critically ill.

“Doctors say the overwhelming majority of covid-19 cases do not require hospitalization. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, U.S. covid-19 patients are currently hospitalized at a rate of 29.2 per 100,000 people, or just under 10 percent of the 1 million known cases so far. Of those, only a small percentage require intensive care or ventilators, and only some will experience a rapid downturn in their health.

“Doctors report seeing patients who wait too long to seek care, including those who do not feel the symptoms of plummeting oxygen levels, such as shortness of breath, until they are in crisis. No one is sure why. Many people’s lungs remain flexible for a while, allowing carbon dioxide out and forestalling the sensation they aren’t getting enough oxygen.

“The virus may be killing the cells that line the air sacs of the lungs, which keep them open and allow for the exchange of oxygen and carbon dioxide...

“At some point, the body simply can’t regenerate those cells as quickly as they die...and a stable situation turns life-threatening. That may also help explain why covid-19 patients can linger on ventilators for up to four

“Ventilators themselves also may contribute to the crash, Buhr said, especially in overwhelmed hospitals where doctors cannot spend enough time fine-tuning the devices that force oxygen into the lungs. Too much pressure on inflamed lungs can produce more of the inflammatory response to the coronavirus, worsening the clogging of air sacs called alveoli.

“’We don’t like to talk about that one as much, but treatment of critically ill people is very complicated,’ Buhr said. ‘Ventilators don’t work like meds. Adjusting the ventilator requires a lot of hands-on effort. And, in particular when hospitals are under stress, it’s much more difficult to provide that level of care.’”
