Some of them are, perhaps, and some of them aren’t. Why stick them into a forced roommate environment with a stranger who can be bringing all sorts of crap from the outside world into their home and could be spreader himself? It’s not logical. It’s evil, devised by those who don’t live alone.
The whole “asymptomatic spreader” thing is like a zombie movie. Just test them if you’re so afraid they exist. You don’t have to send another possibly virus-covered human to live with them. It’s phobogenic. We have enough real fears without hypothesizing and creating new ones.
“I thought the shutdown measures were actually prudent to do initially, when we knew less about this virus, but they really should have been done on a county-by-county basis, unless 3/4* of counties were affected THEN shut the state down.”
Then people would be saying “why my county?” It would be all the same problems but in a more complicated environment. And most people are not reasonable or responsible all the time.
Shutting the whole state - in any case where there is significant infection - is much less of a nightmare.
Clearing the field reduces the chaos. It allows a more orderly restart.

“There are approximately 120 million smokers in India. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), India is home to 12% of the worlds smokers. More than 10 million die each year due to tobacco in India. According to a 2002 WHO estimate, 70% of adult males in India smoke.”
If India is home to 12% of the world’s smokers, but 17% of the world’s population, smoking is *not* the reason they have such a low death rate. I would first suspect a reporting problem, like most of the world.
I don’t know where you got, ‘forced roommate’. It wasn’t in my original post.
You don’t lock up all dogs because a parvo dog is running free. It’s not the dog’s fault he has parvo that’s shedding all over the sidewalk, but you find that dog, and you separate that dog, until that dog is treated and disease-free.
Similarly, you target-test for asymptomatics, focusing now on the single, living alone.
We have already found the asymptomatics that were quarantined for these past 30-45 days *with* their families/roomies. Those would have infected a family member/roomie during those 30-45 days, and so outed themselves as the only ‘contact’ of the infected.
That leaves the asyies that live alone, no roomies, who have no ‘tell’. If they test positive, you quarantine them - at their own home where they live alone - nobody’s hauling them off to the gulag or forcing them into barracks with strangers. I don’t know where you got that. As you say, maybe some are contageous and some aren’t. But the only way to find that out is to test them - because they do live alone.
You seem to be arguing the position that the recovered/questionable immunity and the never infected (handicapped and seniors who built the modern world) should continue to be quarantined ‘for their own good’, now going on 60 days plus for some, with more quarantining to come in the fall. And if they get infected by a contagious asymptomatic running free, well, it’s their own fault for leaving their home.
That is the Princess Cruise method - of allowing asymptomatic crew members free run, while the uninfected passengers were locked in their rooms, repeatedly exposed to the asymptomatic room service until they were infected, too. That is cruel and evil and crazy and counterintuitive. The whole goal is to find and eliminate sources of infection, not allow its spread it.
Local Facebook ad, West Virginia, hog farmer, his butcher shut down. Has 2000, 300 lb. hogs ready for slaughter. $75 each.
Go local. Be quick.
How much meat can you get with a 300 lb.hog? This video explains that.
How did I misinterpret this insane idea?
And how are we allowing people who live alone “free run”? Did I misinterpret the guidelines? We are quietly following the recommendations of our elected leaders.
So for 75 bucks you can get a 300 pound hog. But you gotta process it your self or find a butcher.
I wonder if they do antibodies test on the Flu to determine the true infection rate.

last week he threatened to close churches and now he is feeding muslims during ramadan
THE major problem with UV-C sterilizers is their danger to human vision, which is why they are not used to sterilize rooms, at least not for items sold to the general public. The disclaimer in the product you mention is generic and does not establish that it uses UV-C light. I suspect the FTC will order Amazon to take down this product for misleading the public AND for being a threat to public health, once the FTC notices it.
The bag-type small UV-C sterilizer I got from Amazon is no longer available. Here is another one from Amazon which might be suitable, but I haven't checked it out to see if it is.
https://www.amazon.com/HoMedics-UV-Clean-Sanitizer-Multi-Use-Functionality/dp/B07ZQKVBPP/ref=sr_1_15?crid=2SLAW4SJ5UT55&dchild=1&keywords=uv-c+light+sterilizer&qid=1587948570&sprefix=UV-C+%2Caps%2C215&sr=8-15
I really recommend against use of UV-C light for home purposes, unless it comes in a sealed unit for actual use, like a bag or a box. That means NO exposed light source, and not at all useable for sterilizing rooms. Leave that to professionals.
Bad time of year though for home butchering. The Amish like to do their hogs in Nov. - Dec.
Anyways it seems like there may be no pork, beef or chicken to find at all within two weeks. Seafood will skyrocket. And if herd/ flocks have to be slaughtered for lack of processors, feeder stocks wont be bought and the shortage will last a very long time, prices changes will be wild.
