Here's how to make an expert-approved, do-it-yourself (DIY) face mask to limit the spread of coronavirus and protect yourself from Covid-19.
* snip *
First, fold a paper towel in half, White explains. Next, fold it like an accordion from side to side (see photos). Make a small fold at both ends of the paper towel where the rubber bands will be placed. Insert runner bands behind the fold and staple them in place at both ends.
Another plus: Its disposable.

Side note: Red China can go to hell.
Side note: #### the masks
they are supposed to be mandatory in New York City but I go in and out of stores with no problem without it on and very few others have it on at least at local stores
See, I don’t wear a mask for protection as it’s obviously BS. I wear a mask so they’ll let me in the store.
Try Viva Paper Towels. They are veey thick
Wait, wait! That looks like a....naah!
I still think the masks are more virtue-signalling than anything else, and will not be wearing one. Fortunately, only a few cities in my state have made them mandatory.
Interestingly, I’m noticing that a lot LESS people are wearing them now than a couple of weeks ago.
The moon suits the wuhan, china scientists wore did not help them. Some still got infected.
I have one mask that I keep in a plastic bag and only put on to go into stores. When I get home I put it in a 170 degree oven for 30 minutes to kill anything that might have settled on it while I was out. I sit it on the plastic bag so that also gets disinfected.

How many virus particles do they filter? What micron percentage?
I went into a convenience store the other day. None of the employees were wearing a mask. They were just hanging around. Then as soon as I entered the store, they all put a mask on.
This whole thing is surreal. I feel like Im in a Quentin Tarantino movie. With a little luck, Ill get a supporting actor nomination.
Wait wait, Didn’t WHO just announce that face masks are no good and could even make it worse for anyone?
WHO Says No Evidence Masks Worn By Healthy People Saves Lives, In Fact, It Could Cause InfectionsHere in California, our grocery stores started requiring masks to enter the store as of today. I'd pull my t-shirt up over my mouth, but that would expose my belly and would probably empty the store. Guess I need to find another approach.
I'm still puzzling over the paper towel mask suggested in this article. It says to use rubber bands over the ears, but I think that would shred the paper towel.
I'm still inclined to go with the FRAM filter approach...
Yep, that started here in San Clara County today.
Ditto. Our health department has issued an order that you cant leave the inside of your house without a mask.
Well, when I leave the house, I put on the emperors new mask.
My whole friggin state made it compulsory so it’s illegal for me to go in without one. Before the law went into effect, I sent a fellow shopper to hell for ordering me to get one. Admittedly not one of my proudest moments.
Aren’t they supposed to be catching the aerosol liquid droplets that convey the “virions” (virus particles)? There’s almost no filter that will catch the virions themselves as they waft about merrily on the air.
> How many virus particles do they filter? <
No one knows. No one cares. As AFB-XYZ said, its all about virtue-signaling. We are all in one huge Kabuki play.
P.S. Red China can go to hell.
