In our county, the cases doubled in a week but Gov. Abbott is opening thing up. Wish he’d waited until after the Easter cases. Wish we had tests. The county health official has publicly stated the are many, many more untested cases.
Woo hoo, nail salons will be opened ‘cause getting your nails done by someone other than your six year old is soooo essential. Here, they never shut down.
Just like he didn’t need all those ventilators. Especially those what went in the front door and straight out the back to who knows where.
Think of all those tax dollars wasted on his whining and free campaigning every morning on tv.
We need to lock down the border to prevent that occurrence. Border Patrol has been caught often loading up a bus of captured illegals and dropping them off at some social service charity funded by Soros and related parties. They get shipped all over the US from those locations. The "charity" organizations get paid per head that they relocate. It's a business.
Can they get dirt cheap Hydroxychloroquine and Z-pacs OTC in Mexico?
And the world wonders why America has it worse than other countries.
America, with its culture, numerous inept billion dollar budgeted disease control agencies, more in the way than helping to control disease with poor, politicized advice, is practically defenseless in face of a killer plague. I'm sure our enemies have known this better than us. Those in our government are so stupid, they even sent China millions of our tax dollars to experiment with these viruses that are now killing us.
So the American people themselves; making face masks, protecting themselves, exchanging information, farmers, truckers, and grocers stocking shelves, and dedicated medical staff treating the affected, will have to lead this fight.

I completely agree this is how the spread will go.
But, IMO, we have to fight this at the individual level, through appropriate PPE, training, education, making our own medicines, equipment, supplies, and etc.
I don't see dividing up the country as being successful in the fight. It would have bought us more time if we had locked down the entire nation better in the beginning. That opportunity has long past.
The ultimate way to stop this is via the individual. Individual people are where the buck (virus) stops. Personnel protection first, treatment second, and immunization ultimately - if immunization is even possible.
In no way directed at you DEPcom, but I see government as too slow, too bureaucratic, too politicized, too wasteful, too afraid of its own shadow to effectively put measures in place to control the spread of a fast moving virus. Our billion dollar government agencies can't even collect and make available accurate and timely data, critical for making decisions in the fight.
We the people are the final solution...
I wonder the same. And could some unseen hand be helping to spread or re-spread deadlier strains?
Big governments move at the speed of molasses. Exactly what you do not want in a crisis.
IC, it’s just when I see Fox, I think, well this might be reliable. If see MSN, I scroll past...Lol
TY Lil.
Wow, who knew?

Just sayin'...
“We the people are the final solution...”
Agree 100% on that. Maybe people will take it seriously soon and start wearing mask. I think this Fall people will wake up and smell the coffee when it comes back. Just hoping we get that summer time break from the virus the experts talk about.
As for the government it is going to get more politicized with the elections around the corner. Each party is going to have a plan to save the USA, one will be fake just to get the votes. I recommend everybody just stock up on food, supplies and savings (money) during the Summer break from the virus.
We were watching Singapore closely before it really blew up in the United States because they have such a good healthcare system. For a long time I posted their meticulous daily testing and contact tracing on this daily thread. The hope was that what they were doing would be a harbinger for how we would do. But little did we know that our CDC would foul up the testing so badly, setting us back for weeks. Many (most?) places are still catching up.
Did we ever hear about what Cucuomo and POTUS met about, at the WH, yesterday?
We better not be bailing this failed, liberal state out.

People need to organize and fight this themselves, as has been happening. What's slowing the fight, is waiting on government. Acquire or make the tools (PPE), educate ourselves, educate others, and let's take back control over our lives. People work with dangerous pathogens everyday in laboratories and hospitals worldwide. We as a whole can too with the proper equipment, training and precautions, IMO.
Agree. This virus is the first of many major challenges we are going to face individually, and as a nation, in our very near future.
You’re missing a vital point.... beyond elderly which are dying via exposure in all countries, Swedens migrant population is who is dying at alarmingly high rates. They’re not practicing social distancing etc. Somali’s which make up .5% of populations are 30% of the corona deaths.
