LOS ANGELES - anecdotal
1. DH drove to Ontario Airport today to return rental/pick up his personal car. Airport parking was nice enough to discount the fees - $270 for first 10 days then $10/d for next 10 days. Rental car co also didn’t charge extra for mileage, due to ‘rarity’ of pandemic - even tho he drove it from TN to SoCal with 2 stops in Ark and NM. No extra fees, no extra charges.
So if you have to travel by air right now, the concessions are doing their part in trying to ease the financial burden for travelers who can’t easily get connecting flights.
2. On way to Upland to check mailbox, up and down Mountain Ave messsicans are hawking surgical masks for $1.99 each and P95s for $5 each. Individual, in baggies. No word if they were put in the bags under sterile conditions but the hawkers didn’t look too sterile. So if you have to have one, that’s where you can find them.
Didn’t see any homemade masks for sale, tho (which would probably sell faster since they are washable so sterility isn’t such an issue)
just randomly, I clicked on the Fauci patent link and came up with page not found
same for the Dr. Rashid link (noxinfluencer)
did you maybe copy them wrong? or is there an original source? thanks
I dont understand- going to the pharmacy is definitely leaving your house.
Ha! And, to think that the LAST time I was at Walgreen’s, over 2 months ago...the bitty at the register was furious that I wouldn’t touch the keypad.
She said, “I wipe that down, constantly.”
I said, You didn’t just wipe it down after the last customer, who was holding an obviously sick child.
She twirled the keypad around and punched whichever buttons needed to be pressed, for me.
So rude.
Well, she only went out a couple times in about 3 weeks.
So it was strange.
Shows it only takes once... and wash your hands!
We have powdered pool bleach....with NO algicide. Just pure pool bleach.
I’m so nice to cashiers now- they’re so worried.
One thought I was coming on to her. LOL!
Are they worried because you’re being nice??
Or, in general?

They pool the samples. It’s math...
Yah, and if you are going to barely leave your house, choosing the pharmacy as a place you would go is a strange decision.
I took my girl in on an emergency visit last week, which is all my vet is doing right now. Maybe call them first to get the low-down? Everything here was done car-side.
HK dog held virus in its nose but I don’t think they ever said if it was high enough level to actually shed, just that it eventually faded away.
and rounder eyes, too? that’s a bonus
White House orders Puritan to make swabs under Defense Production Act
President Trump announced Sunday that he will compel a US company to make swabs under the Defense Production Act.
Two people familiar with the decision told CNN that company is Puritan Medical Products, which is based in Maine. It is known for making “flocked swabs,” which it says are better at collecting specimens than other types.
Trump said the administration had experienced “difficulty” with the company...

adults are supposed to stay home, but a Harvard professor thinks that the home is too dangerous for our own children:

A Harvard law professor is under fire for an article on the “risks” of homeschooling as more parents are choosing to opt-out of public schools closed because of the coronavirus pandemic.

like, it’s ok, because they didn’t give a speech first.
Here are Worldometers - US figures for the 21st. There are a lot of new deaths figures for the day. Noticeable is the rather large increase in deaths for Oklahoma and Minnesota given the low number of total cases. I see that DC with more cases had much less than half the new deaths. Grocery stores in DC are pretty strict about requiring masks on customers. A friend of mine who shops in DC but banks in MD was very annoyed that hardly anyone in a grocery store in MD had masks. I see that while MD has about 4 1/2 times the total cases it had 10 times the number of new deaths compared with DC.

New things I saw today. There seems to be a circulatory element causing bleeding under the skin from small vessels. And then there is the guy who lost a leg to DVT. I suspect that taking extra Vitamin C would help there. Also kidney failure is another major complication.
I’ll bet they’re parading around how they’re part of “The Resistance”...
speaking of way over the heads:

Ha!
I bet they make ‘sanitizing wipes’!
So, Trump gad to invoke the act to cover them with their shareholders.
I’m sure the gov pays well for products, but no way anyone could beat the market for ‘sanitizing wipes’...
