Laredo pair allegedly violated coronavirus stay-at-home order with beauty businesses

Two women allegedly violated the emergency management plan when they offered their beauty, cosmetic services from home.

Their arrests were initiated for violations imposed by the COVID-19 Emergency Management Plan on Wednesday.

Laredo police said they launched investigations on the cases after receiving anonymous tips via the LPD app.

"Both of the violators independently solicited customers via social media. On both cases, an undercover officer working on the COVID-19 task force enforcement detail made contact with each solicitor to set up an appointment for a cosmetic, beauty service that is prohibited under the emergency ordinance," police said in a statement.

In one case, Ana Isabel Castro-Garcia, 31, was arrested in the 1200 block of Harding Street after she agreed to and met with an undercover officer who posed as a customer needing a nail service.

"Castro-Garcia admitted to running a nail salon inside her residence and promoting the business on social media, going against the mayoral decree currently in place," police stated.

These arrests are going to boil over and get out of hand. People aren’t going to tolerate this for long (except the girlie-man liberals and their butch girlfriends)...

My hair lady did both my husband and myself in her salon in the back room this weekend, and 3 more clients that day after us. She's desperate to get back to work.

Gave her a 50% tip, too.

That’s great that she did that. I hope she can open her business soon.

My wife’s consignment store has being doing private shopping events and curb side pickup. Beauty salons have boarded their windows so no one knows they are operating. I know it is against the lock down order by Governor Brown of Oregon but small businesses still have to make money and survive.

= = = =

The COVID-19 task force enforcement detail ...

I wonder if this is a brand new recruitment division, or a spin off of another...say, the prostitution/solicitation division.

Hmmmm.

I’ve been going to Pilates for individual lessons. My instructor is only seeing previous clients and one at a time.

Are we actually paying people tax dollars to do this?

What a waste of time, money, and just annoying.

They should deploy their SWAT team, use their armored vehicle and come in by helicopter to arrest the “perpetrator.” Hahahaha

My money is on that it’s some poor Latino lady doing hair, or an Asian doing nails. You know, folks that don’t get a billion in federal bail out for their big corporation that got to stay open because they sell life essential services, like at Lowes and Home Depot, or Walmart and McDonald’s, nor do these people have a secure paycheck like the cops protecting and serving the community so well.

This would be funny were it not true!

Personally, I’d be ashamed and embarrassed to be associated with such an arrest. But these knuckle heads probably feel proud of their accomplishment.

My wife had her “friend” over to touch up her roots. Gave her a $100 tip.

This is not going to go over well if they don’t end it soon.

Hair stylists should open their doors for free services, no business purposes therefore they would simply be hosting one friend at a time. Oh, if the friend wanted to leave a “gift” so be it, and it would be non taxable off the books.

Sounds like a couple of the cops were surfing social media. You gotta be smart about s-—t unless you wanna get popped.

I committed multiple felonies a day dealing dope in the early 80’s. Never charged or arrested for anything felony level. You gotta be smart about your s-—t...

‘What is scary is neighbors ratting out others Soviet style.’

other than the actual tragedy of the deaths that have been triggered by this contagion, this is the worst thing to come out of this fiasco...I can say that if someone ratted me out, and I found out who it was, that person wouldn’t have much peace going forward...
