New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy banned the annual drive-through tulip farm in Cream Ridge this year.
Owner Casey Jansen said he invested ONE MILLION in planting all the bulbs in the fall.
But the governor threatened to arrest Jansen if ONE CAR drives through his farm for the annual attraction!

CREAM RIDGE, NJ – Governor Phil Murphy’s administration today shut down the drive-through tulip farm in Cream Ridge, but allowed the owners to continue selling their tulips to their customers for curbside pickup.
Owner Casey Jansen said his family owned farm makes about a one million dollar annual investment into planting tulips to operate the annual drive-through. This week, he was relayed a message from Attorney General Gurbir Grewal, “No drive through allowed”.
“We planted all these tulip bulbs in the months of October and November. That’s when we make the investment, and my investment is just about a million dollars,” Jansen said in an interview withNJ.com
Meanwhile, out in Gloucester County, the Dalton Farms tulip drive-through, which is booked solid through the weekend has given a pass by Murphy’s administration.
Jansen claims that he received a letter from the state threatening that two New Jersey State Police officers would be at his farm to arrest him if a single car drove through his field.

Unfortunately, I doubt if anything short of massive civil disobedience is going to stop this sort of illegal activity on the part of this man. And I would assume his attorney general is a fascist of a similar stripe.
If serious or large incidences of Civil Disobedience begin to happen, all of you who think law enforcement is on our side need to take note of who’s following orders when they start arresting people. I think it is a mistaken assumption to believe that most rank-and-file law enforcement is on our side when crunch time hits. Or that they are going to give up their jobs in order to defend your civil rights.
The only way the State of New Jersey can ensure proper social distancing is by stepping up the efforts at deterrence. Violators and those who would encourage them and otherwise speak against the social distancing measures being instituted for public safety must be made an example of.
Many solutions to this problem have been tried but with little success. Fines and penalties as well as the accompanying stigma of media shaming has produced some result. But this solution and other intermediate one’s have failed to achieve the desired effectiveness.
While arresting these violators may be appropriate in many instances, this virus has unfortunately created a challenge to this. The necessary closure of the jails and release of its occupants means that there is no place to incarcerate such violators.
What is needed therefore is to put a stop to intermediate measures and come up with a final solution to the question of what to do with social distancing violators and other miscreants who would stand in the way of dealing with this emergency.
The recent closure of county and state parks affords a ready answer on how to implement this solution. The governor should immediately commandeer these lands and erect temporary holding areas where those who are detained can be held in an appropriately socially spaced manner. Tents can be used until such time as the offenders can erect their temporary barracks.
As an added benefit and in order to fully bring the magnitude of their offenses to light perhaps those who wantonly disobeyed the governors order can earn their freedom more readily by working to overcome this virus. They can work building field hospitals, ventilators and a whole host of other necessary equipment for this war effort and defeat this virus.

While we are home, it is a good time to write our representatives about voter integrity laws. This is probably the only time that individual citizens can counter lobbyists and special interests in DC. Along with protests across the country, we can implore legislators to push forth sensible bills.
