But the 17th was a Friday, not a Sunday. Today is Sunday the 19th. At least in the Central time zone. 8>)
The two most bastardized words in the English language nowadays are “plummet” and “soar.” They are now synonyms for “decline” and “rise,” thanks to mass media and its need to over-dramatize everything.
...hoax from the first moment i heard it. The only thing i cant figure out is why trump went along with it.
Trump has the into on this. If the death rate is low some people will resent trump for that. I would praise him for it.
If we shut down the country after the hospitals were overrun, And this thing from The China Bio weapons lab infected many times more of us then the shutdown would have been devastating With little hope instead of terrible with much hope.
But NY is already on the board with only 507. It will get bigger by the evening cut off but not too much - think that’s around 9:00PM eastern.
You get a real feel for the day once NJ, Mass and Penn post their numbers.
I have heard through the rumor mill that the New York Police Department has found Jimmy Hoffa’s body, the body has been autopsied for cause of death, and it was determined Hoffa died of corona virus.
In pretty much every country, the virus takes weekends off and drops off in response to lockdowns. Various countries, including Singapore, South Korea and Japan, have discovered that the lifting of lockdowns coincides with spikes in case loads. Obviously people need to go back to work or face famine. But keeping the economy going will need to be balanced with keeping pandemic deaths down via preventing ER’s from getting overloaded. In fact, it is likely that some hospitals will be designated special purpose virus treatment centers whose budget shortfalls are covered by the government (given that ER’s tend to be unprofitable), whereas elective surgeries will be shunted off to all other facilities.
LOL.
“””Ive noticed that too. Less people seem to die on Sundays.”””
Likely because the hospitals might have to pay the SEIU union workers extra pay for Saturday and Sunday work.
Never mind that. DeBlasio still wants billions in federal aid for New York City.
Thesa death numbers don’t tie into the Worldometer numbers I’ve been tracking. They’re much lower. While NY is starting to decline in deaths per day and total deaths, the state leads the world in the rate of deaths per million population. The state is at 900 and the city is over a 1000. No city or country is anywhere close with Italy and Spain at 400 or so.
They have a long way to go. If it weren’t for NYC and close in NJ counties, the US would be like Canada or Germany in the 40-50 range in deaths per million.
It’s a good trend but still a problem if for no other reason that it gives Cuomo undeserved celebrity status. If Trump were NY governor he would be constantly berated for being a world leader in death rate.
The trend is in the right direction but you’re correct about the Sunday & Monday figures.
The count drops as the reporting falls on those days. It will probably trend down further but there will be a bump next Tuesday.
It’s finally heading down but NJ is seeing its peak later. Arghhhhh
They are experts at this. All we have to do is look at how the election results filter in.
Correct. When Cuomo reports around noon he is giving the previous day’s figures. Friday was 540. Yesterday was 507 (INCL the probables.)
There is no truth anymore as far as I am concerned when presented from media and government. I assume everything is fake and a lie until proven otherwise and in most cases that is impossible to tell.
Sadly, one can swap out “government” and “China” in your post and not miss a beat.
Yep.
The problem with numbers is people.
Considering many of my neighbors have NY family members crowded into their basements, we will never know the real data number because of the NYC spread and hide effect.
Good one Presbyterian. Did you tell Jeraldo about this ?
I am right there with you. I go through several phases each day of believing each side.
WTHeck???
What part of country are you in? How many NY family members, on average, do your neighbors pack into each of their/these basements??
