Its just the flu, bro.
Finally found a good source for national deaths from all causes:
http://www.toptradeguru.com/?p=72407
This link has a link to the CDC website and it is showing deaths from all causes are at 5 year lows. Yes people are dying of CV - but It could be one tenth the number that is getting published. If lots of people were dying, who werent naturally going to die that day anyway, then the CDC weekly published national death numbers would be significantly higher. They would show a big jump up to reflect the 30k people who have supposedly died from CV. Definitely worth checking this site again once a week.
Good job on the protests and good job that Trump tweeted that some of these lockdown rules are excessive in some states. There is no limit to the tyrannical actions that Dems will engage in if they can claim it is for your own good.
But he is still landing with the plane. And I have personally seen a Jumpmaster accidentally hit the black button and deploy his chute inside the aircraft so it does happen that risk rears its ugly head from time to time. I knew a guy who had 500 jumps, Special Forces and crashed and burned at an air show in Hawaii. He lived through it but it took a year to walk again.
Risk/Benefit can be a very complicated thing.
I have a modest proposal (remember Jonathan Swift?): Why doesn’t everyone who is till frightened about genuine social activity stay the f***k home and let the rest of us rebuild on the remnants of civil society in the US. Cower in fear with your high speed internet, Netflix and food delivery services. Hope that your income is not interrupted and that someone actually produces what you need to stay alive, healthy and sane. The biggest problem with Corona-cowards is that they demand that everyone join them in their self-created prisons. Sorry about the rant (not really).
I nominate you as a member of PDJT’s Task Force. Yours is a seriously logical solution to the RAT-created problem.
The only thing your graph shows is that the sooper geniuses in the disease tracking world were utterly unaware that this virus had been circulating here for several months with NOTHING being tracked.
The data is so incomplete as to render your graph useless.
But hey, it’s all in a day’s work for Bozo the Modeler.
You can create all the doomsday graphs you want. Every source even the ones I find politically charged states we are over the hipbones. Death sadly is a lagging indicator. There is now credible literature suggesting that penetrance is far greater than thought and there is evidence of circulation since September
Additionally as you hold yourself out as a physician if I recall correctly (ER doc) you will, if honest, recall there was a significant number or no influenza respiratory cases All winter long. Certainly in critical care we saw more cases of ARDS that for all the world looks like influenza but turned out to be negative and had no explanation.
If you are a physician then you know thst given the totality of the situation we likely have treated this disease all winter long.
Your graph is an abomination meant to fit your narratives. Why not show the better graphs that demonstrate influenza like syndrome and chief complaints of cough, dyspnea and fevers are rapidly falling off? Why also are you unwilling to show the data that net hospitalizations are negative st at this point (discharges > admission). That physicians across major systems as well as our nursing colleagues are being furloughed.
You present a graph intended to do the worst of things. Manipulate the data to prove your right not go where the data lead you. At the end of the day there will likely be less than 60,000 deaths, it will follow the exact same curve most pandemics follow, herd immunity is likely close to being conferred (Stanford study, New York homeless shelter study N=400).
Sadly given the preponderance of the data in the context of the historical trend
It is the flu bro.
If you want to reply please remain data oriented as I have.
That is what is the strangest thing of all now. Fear is considered a social virtue. Nextdoor (the community bulletin board app, usually used for things like asking for a good handyman or giving away kittens) is full of prissy liberals ratting on people who are violating the ever increasing requirements of fear. I saw 6 people bicycling together....the police should know about this... Its insane.
A couple of days ago our beaches opened up again, to the horror of the fear contingent. Some news sources used a photo of hundreds of people on the beach, not social distancing, to criticize our governor for allowing the beaches open. Of course, today it emerges that this was a file photo taken sometime before this, and they knew that perfectly well.
The more liberal they are, the more fear they seem to feel and the more they want to impose this on others. Also, they have total contempt for those who Want to get on with life, and now I am seeing sneering comments that the right wing protesters just want to get back to [name the lower end dining spot of your choice] and Trump rallies. The NYT openly called the protesters right wing in a headline. So this has taken on a political dimension that is insane and a genuine threat to our liberties.
Oh and additionally there were less deaths week over week during the peak than in the same week last year. I guess your ticket number thst only gets to 2500 max is not viewed in the context of there are on average 8000 deaths a day in America. And these deaths are not increasing that number so I guess there is always that.
Because those who are afraid are afraid of your freedom and choice. They hide behind your need to be controlled as they are not freedom loving. The free market will sort this out brutal efficiency. If I open my bar which is crowded and no one shows I have my answer. If I open my bar and everyone shows I have my answer as to the general feeling of risk within my locality.
Right now our freedom is taken away. We cant exercise their choice. But those who want our freedoms taken in the situation where they have a choice would be free to self isolate and remain at home.
The point is they wish to control us and do not love liberty or freedom and think they no better and those of us who disagree need authoritian control over our lives.
Its despicable
Great minds think alike.
Wuhan Flu killing more people than cancer? Sorry, not buying it.
Killing them within a much more tightly compressed time frame than cancer? That I’ll accept.
If that’s the case then the post-peak side of that graph is going to plunge like the downside of a rollercoaster.
Of course no FearBros won’t be posting THAT graph.
It shows that when the right button is pushed, even “conservatives” become control freak liberals. Where have we heard the Fearpers argument before? I’m afraid of guns, so you shouldn’t have one. I’m afraid of global warming, so you shouldn’t have a car. I’m afraid of this years virus, so you should give up your freedom...
It says April 15 I think... by recent data missing I meant 2 or 3 days not something massive.
Tell it to Hockey Stick McGee...
Theyre cooking the books like theres No Tomorrow !!! Trying to Save Face, nothing to see here, do not look behind the curtain .....
I went and stood in line to get in a Lowes yesterday. Took about fifteen minutes. About 20% of the patrons were wearing masks. Mostly the elderly and obese. Strangely, none of the employees. In talking to my fellow queuers (hey, is that a real word?) they all think this whole thing is a joke and was way overblown. Then, it is over the memory care place to talk to my mother through the outside window. She doesnt understand why no one has visited her in over a month.
Thank you.
Deaths are in though...overall deaths is unfudgeable. Do you know what unfudgeable means?
Even McGee has lately come around to the viewpoint that virus mitigation must be balanced against economic impact.
The more the modelers are exposed as bozos the more will come around.
