For nearly a century, an illustration of a Native American woman with a feather in her hair has adorned the packaging of Land OLakes cheese and butter products. But not for much longer.
The company, founded in 1921 by a group of Minnesota dairy farmers, is phasing in a new design ahead of its 100th anniversary. Instead of the depiction of the woman, some products will be labeled Farmer-Owned and feature an illustration of a field and lake, or photographs of its farmers, the company announced.
The new design, which started appearing on tubs of butter spread, food service products and deli cheese in February, is now being used on packages of stick butter and will be fully rolled out by the end of the year, the company has said.

I wonder if she went on unemployment.
The original art was drawn by a Native American, in honor of his people and their heritage. I would be outraged if I was Native American
On my trip to the grocery store I was going to buy a box.
The change-over is complete. The old box is gone.
And another one bites the dust in the effort to avoid offending ANYONE in any way! In reality, all this does is to inspire the snowflakes to keep looking for their next target.
No longer will you be able to cut up the box, fold it in such away so that her knees look like her boobs. (I had a lot of spare time in my youth.)
Ojibwe artist Patrick DesJarlait remade Mia in the mid-1950s. DesJarlait also created the popular Hamms Beer bear, and his work is represented in the collection of the Minnesota Museum of American Art in St. Paul.

She was an homage to native Americans. Not an insult. Land O’ Lakes should have kept her, and established a fund to help fund education in the professions for native Americans (professions = all professions, including skilled trades).
Pretty much the only reason why I ever bought this butter was because of the picture. She just looks so friendly.
I always thought that was Elizabeth Warren on the box!

Land of Flakes should be easy to boycott.
Insanity.
Butter is butter. Just buy the generic or house brands, and let them enjoy their “wokeness” and loss of sales.

Let’s see if I’ve got this right. Left-wing outfits are outraged that the Washington Redskins use a native American on their logo, but they’re also outraged that Land-O-Lakes removed a native American from their logo?
