Sorry for the vanity, but I am concerned, I work in the hospitality industry, always have. There have always been highs and lows, but this is the low of lows.
With the government mandate of social distancing, I'm afraid that there will be no big gatherings, such as wedding receptions, proms, family reuions, company meetings, etc in the future.
Well, it seems that I’m getting messages from my favored browser that my ‘privacy’ has been violated.
So I guess I’m gone.
I’m tired, anyway. Good Nite!
I am grateful that I still have a job but I am not sure for how long. We primarily drill for dry gas and no one is making money below $2.
Two things...dont worry about things you cant control, and think what we were all talking about in January...four.months ago....you can count on us being worried and/or focused on something else in four months (probably impeachment part deux).
But yeah - things will be different. Much of their business was business meetings, lunches provided to employees by the company every day as a perk - so even in the future I'm guessing more people will just work from home.
Lots of lake boat dinner cruises, weddings, university meetings, etc. I suppose the smaller weddings, birthdays and events at people's homes will come back. Maybe the boat cruises.
On one hand I think this will be one of those “paradigm” shifts that comes along every so often. Or, the virus will mutate to a weaker strain or however they can die off and we go back to normal and pretty much forget about it. Sort of like most of us have done since 9/11.
I surely hope it is the later, but it will take some time.
You used the word “afraid”. Let it go, understanding that you have no idea how the industry will change, what advantages
any changes may present to experienced hands or if it will even change at all.
Don’t know how old you are but I’m 61, been way up and way down, and I’m telling you don’t sweat it. Dont bother. Keep thinking, planning and pushing.
We almost at half that in 1.5 months.
They’re counting anybody who tested positive as a coronavirus death, even if they died because they got hit by a bus.
You know that, right?

I dunno, at this point, Im kinda disappointed in the made in china virus.
Just be thankful it wasn’t an EMP. Or, this plus an EMP.
Subhumans who strap on suicide vests and do the horrors muzzies(SPIT!) do, will definitely spend/do whatever it takes to kill us.

Now that is something I am truly thankful for...at least we still have technology.
In my gut I firmly believe this too shall pass. It doesn’t look great right now. We own 2 businesses and haven’t seen a dime from EIDL so things aren’t great here.
However, I think about what I did one day BEFORE President Trump spoke at the first big news conference. I was sitting at PF Changs with my family for my birthday and we toasted to each of us one last time since we felt everything would basically close the next day. We asked to be seated a little farther away because at that point we knew it was in the US and we all had seen the China footage but yet we were still there enjoying dinner together.
There was no difference between that evening and the next when everyone was told to not go out but now it was hard public facts so everything seemed to change. Fast forward to tonight All I wanted to do was go out for a nice dinner (I have a vulnerable family member) but if I could have, I would have gone into that restaurant and asked to be seated away from others as much as possible and I would have enjoyed a wonderful meal.
We have had wars and terror attacks and depressions and as we went through it most did not feel things would ever be normal again and yet “normal” happened again.
Normal will happen again this time too...in some places much faster than anyone could have thought. Americans do best when faced with destruction and devastation. We rise up out of the ashes like a phoenix and we rebuild.
This time we have a President who proved he will move mountains because he loves this country and finally we have God who I believe still goes before us...
Happening every time going into Walmart here. Packed, and they could be conducting a church service.
I wear a mask when I go shopping, now. I’m more careful than ever about hand washing. Not because the government told me to, but because it’s sensible, under the circumstances. We go to church 3 times a week (a small home church, it just so happens), where we still sit close together and hug and shake hands, like always. My next door neighbor comes over to talk with a smile and a hug. I’m certainly not hiding in the basement. And I’m not caving in to the government. If they were to call for mandatory Covid19 vaccines that included the invisible health information and tracking, I would refuse. If it actually WERE the “Mark of the beast”, I would die before I’d take it.
If traffic in Fairbanks indicates anything, the people are finally having enough of this lock-down BS. Traffic was up to normal and the store parking lots pretty full again.
The politicians pukes are going to have to open things back up, even if that means giving up some of their extra power they are enjoying.
Define normal? Life will get back to big events again. Just like all ‘crises’, of which this not one since it was contrived by leftists who want to hurt and kill you and I, people will eventually forget.

Gun confiscation will never happen in mass. It will happen just like all injustices happen. One person at a time.

Virginia as of Good Friday now has the same law.

I am ready to spend as well. I am looking forward to giving my barber a huge tip!

try not to worry so much

Exactly. I am not going to live in fear. Something will kill me some day, and it will probably not be this virus, and know there are people who do want you in fear for their agenda.
Live your life.
