I logged on to this IRS portal this morning. https://www.irs.gov/coronavirus/get-my-payment
After entering all my info it said you are eligible to receive the stimulus check, but we don't have your bank information! How is that possible when I get my social security via direct deposit to my bank account every month?
So I entered my bank information and then the portal said we will deposit the stimulus check to that account! (which is the same account as my SS deposit account).
Correct. I have stopped using paper anything since year 2000. As often as I get my neighbor’s mail, and my neighbors get my mail, I do not trust the post office for anything important.
I don’t qualify, but I just checked the portal for my mom.
She filed for 2018 but didn’t file for 2019 yet. Her AGI is below $75,000 so she should qualify.
She paid taxes to the IRS for the 2018 return so they don’t have her direct deposit info.
She receives social security and gets the SS to direct deposit her check every month, so SS has her direct deposit info.
The IRS portal says:
“According to information that we have on file, we cannot determine your eligibility for a payment at this time.”
The IRS should know she qualifies for a check but they don’t have her bank info. No idea what’s going on.
Vast inter-agency sharing of citizen private financial information is not something to be wished for by us. Think it through.
He was probably right, but why did the IRS portal tell me this morning they do NOT have my bank info? I get my SS direct deposit on 4th Wednesday of month, so there will be more wait.
It’s the same here. Mail is always getting mixed up or lost. I have to get on our local community Facebook page to see if anybody got my mail or announce that I have theirs. It’s no wonder they are in financial trouble.

Individuals who filed a federal income tax for 2018 or 2019
Individuals who receive Social Security retirement, disability (SSDI), or survivor benefits
Individuals who receive Railroad Retirement benefits
That is the exact message my daughter received when she tried to find out her stimulus check status. She is under $75k for both 2018 & 2019 and received direct deposit refunds in both years.
Yes, I already knew that, but Mnuchin said we should be getting stimulus money TODAY. And it is not true for me and my daughter.

I too get SS every month deposited into my bank account here in Japan . I’ve read expats also get some money but can’t seem to find concrete info on whether or not I am actually eligible . I did read via the Jerusalem Post that Israelis with dual citizenship or with green cards living in Israel will get a check , though .
I usually get up in the middle of the night, and if I remember, I'll try then.
If not I'll check my bank account every coupla days.
I have *never* been able to get past the “we are busy ....” and
“Please wait” banner to even begin putting in my information.

Just enter the bank account info.

I was able to enter my info today (after a very long wat).
But it told my the status is unavailable at this time.

I got a different result each time I tried using the site. They need to flip the ‘TEA Party’ switch to the OFF position. No dough , Pending or otherwise. No suhprize either. This is Big Gubamint at its finest.
