Ralph Wendorf says his secret to a long life is simple.
"I put two cherries in my Manhattan," he told KQRE-TV.
He celebrated his 100th birthday on Saturday.
Because of a stay-at home order in New Mexico, like most other states, Wendorf's friends organized a drive-by birthday party.
Many had birthday wishes for the World War II Army veteran, including first responders and motorcycle clubs.
"It just took my breath away," Wendorf said. "I'm absolutely speechless."

I had an Uncle who came within two weeks of a hundred. He smoked a pipe which always had a pleasant aroma. I suspect the pipe is also less harmful to your lungs.
He was Mother’s Brother-in-Law. Daddy always liked him and so did I. He was a great story teller.

If you are putting TWO Luxardo cherries in your Manhattan, you have more invested in the cherries than the Manhattan.

never heard of them. my local stores probably dont carry them but saw it on amazon.
I will just do my nightly shot of gargling whiskey and top it off with a cherry during Wuhan Flu season.

Luxardo cherries are wonderful. Better liquor stores carry them.
I imagine Amarena cherries would work pretty well also.

those cherries come from a region in Italy that has been hard hit by the virus,.
I might order some to try because they might get pricey later.

Very, very often, when it is a lady, say 105,106 years old, and someone asks for the secret to long life, they often state “every morning I have my bacon. “
Also, I have a secret anti-elephant device - I carry it in my pocket. It is made of lint, an old match, and a bit of wire. It works....How do I know?
