My sons entire high school was online, and he loved it. He participated in sports, dances, homecoming, etc. with a nearby private school. I think a lot of his traditional school friends enjoy doing school this way, especially on days they finish at noon. They are realizing just how much of the day is wasted at school because of transitions, interruptions, and waiting on the slowest students to catch up.
4-5% of pork production. How much will pork go up at the grocery store today? 20-30%? Smtihfield’s has several other Plants.
I guess I’ll get the roast beef today.
Probably a variety of factors, just like with many people - weight, diet, etc.
Plus access to care and how people perceive medical care ("don't go until really, really sick, etc).
Plus more sustained exposure to virus due to living situation (close quarters, use of mass transit, etc.).
;-)
There are several plants with outbreaks

Coronavirus Concerns Rise as Ohio Valley Meatpacking Workers Fall Sick
By: Liam Niemeyer | Ohio Valley ReSource
Posted on: Friday, April 10, 2020
HINTON, W.Va. (OVR) As the number of coronavirus cases surge across the country, some meatpacking facilities have been temporarily shuttered due to workers falling ill to the virus. Three workers in Georgia have even died.
With workers at some Ohio Valley facilities now testing positive for the virus, worker safety advocates are raising concerns about how adequately workers are being protected and the implications for the food supply.
West Virginias poultry and livestock industries bring in the large majority of the states agricultural revenue, with poultry and eggs bringing in approximately $387,884,000 in 2017. Most of that production happens in the states eastern panhandle in places including Pendleton County, where Steve Conrad raises turkeys for a regional cooperative.
He said a worker tested positive for the coronavirus last week at the cooperatives poultry processing facility across the state border in Hinton, Virginia. While Conrad believes the situation at the facility is under control, the potential for spread of the virus at such processing facilities could be substantial.

I looked at some of the vile comments. Unbelievable ignorance and hate.
The following is the complete April 13, 2020 statement from the Navy.
PEARL HARBOR (NNS) The Sailor assigned to the USS Theodore Roosevelt (CVN 71) who was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of the U.S. Naval Hospital Guam April 9 (local date) died of COVID-related complications on April 13.
The name of the Sailor is being withheld until 24 hours after next-of-kin notification.
The Sailor tested positive for COVID-19 March 30, was removed from the ship and placed in an isolation house on Naval Base Guam with four other USS Theodore Roosevelt (CVN 71) Sailors. Like other Sailors in isolation, he received medical checks twice daily from Navy medical teams.

While Naval Base Guam emergency responders were notified, CPR was administered by fellow Sailors and onsite medical team in the house. Nursing Home Deaths Soar Past 3,600 in Alarming Surge
Deaths have skyrocketed despite steps taken by the federal government in mid-March
By Bernard Condon and Randy Herschaft
Published April 12, 2020
More than 3,600 deaths nationwide have been linked to coronavirus outbreaks in nursing homes and long-term care facilities, an alarming rise in just the past two weeks, according to the latest count by The Associated Press.
Because the federal government has not been releasing a count of its own, the AP has kept its own running tally based on media reports and state health departments. The latest count of at least 3,621 deaths is up from about 450 deaths just 10 days ago.
But the true toll among the 1 million mostly frail and elderly people who live in such facilities is likely much higher, experts say, because most state counts dont include those who died without ever being tested for COVID-19...
.....Outbreaks in just the past few weeks have included one at a nursing home in suburban Richmond, Virginia, that has killed 42 and infected more than 100, another at nursing home in central Indiana that has killed 24 and infected 16, and one at a veterans home in Holyoke, Mass., that has killed 38, infected 88 and prompted a federal investigation. This comes weeks after an outbreak at a nursing home in the Seattle suburb of Kirkland that has so far claimed 43 lives.
S.KOREA
SEOUL, April 13 (Yonhap) — South Korea on Monday reported 25 more cases of the novel coronavirus, bringing the nation’s total infections to 10,537.
It is the second time since late February that the country’s new virus infections fell below 30 after it reported a daily rise of 27 new cases Friday.
Monday’s new virus cases mark a sharp drop from the Feb. 29 peak of 909 new cases, according to the Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (KCDC).
But health authorities remain on high alert over cluster infections at churches and hospitals, as well as new cases coming from overseas.
The nation’s death toll from the new coronavirus, which emerged in China late last year, rose by three to 217, according to the KCDC.
The number of patients released from quarantine after making full recoveries reached 7,447, up 79 from a day earlier.
