NORTH CAROLINA, USA - New guidelines will go into place Monday for retail stores across North Carolina.
Gov. Roy Cooper signed an executive order limiting the number of people that are allowed in a store at one time.
The order said only 5 people are allowed for every 1,000 square feet of retail space, or 20 percent of fire marshal posted occupancy limits.
The order also directs stores to mark six feet of distance for areas where several people gather, like checkout lines.
The order requires stores to take specific measures when cleaning.
Nancy Kimbrough, the owner of Bestway, a grocery store in Greensboro, said the store employees have already been taking measures to clean.
Bestway has adjusted it's store hours to allow for more cleaning time.
Kimbrough said the idea to limit the number of people in stores is a good one. "Our number is 18. I don't really see that as an issue at all," said Kimbrough. That number includes both store employees and customers.

Cooper imposed this without consulting the NC Council of State. He essentially bypassed state law and annointed himself the ‘Supreme Leader’ of NC.

After the press release, and shortly before a scheduled press conference, I, along with other Council of State members, was asked to concur with the Governor’s decision with no discussion. The Governor held his press conference and made the announcement even after a majority of the Council of State voted not to concur with the Governor. Thus, he does not have the authority to issue this part of his executive order.
While I understand that all actions in a time of crisis are very difficult decisions and have many consequences, some decisions are so serious they require, by law, discussion with, and approval of, other state leaders.”

Therefore, they have to do something. This is what is happening up in the northeast. Home Depot, Lowes, grocery stores are all limiting the amount of people in at a time.
I went to the grocery store last night around 5pm. It is now closing at 6pm instead of 9 or 10. There was nobody at the deli counter other than me and the guy behind it. They had plenty of eggs. No TP or paper towels. Plenty of fruit.
The bread isle was full. They had ONE WAY signs in the isles.
They had spots on the floor when you were waiting in line to check out to keep people at least 6 feet apart.
However, there were only two employees that I noticed that were wearing masks. Probably 2/3 of the customers were though.
Will that limit the number of out-of-staters than can be held up at the Dare and Currituck county border roadblocks by law enforcement? The out-of-state homeowners that are trying to get to their legally-owned homes on the coast?

I was in Lowe’s yesterday. Lots of business. A few people wore masks...most didn’t. There were squares on the floor at checkout...but they’ve been there for a long time, for “personal info” privacy at the keypad, I assume. Actually had an incoming shopper offer to help me load the truck.

If you are thinking WTF, here is the deal. What happens in the state of Mi will be determined by Detroit, Half WHit’s base. In Detroit it has been party time. With crowds of people partying at older people’s places because they have houses. That’s why we can no longer drive between houses even if it’s from your farm to your brothers and there isn’t a virus case within 50 miles. Any restrictions on the city will applied everywhere in the state because it would be racist to do it any other way. Got it?
