This is remarkable. Dr. Birx says here very plainly that anyone who dies “with COVID-19” is being counted as having died from COVID-19. She admits this is a “liberal approach” to recording mortality. The suspicions many of us had are now confirmed.

JUST catching up from business over the weekend; some collection of data didn’t catch up until Tuesday.
If routine deaths from known killers significantly diminish during the current plague, we’ll have to conclude the WuhanRedDeath cures cancer, heart disease, and numerous otherwise deadly ailments.
I DID hear what she said and what I heard (or thought I heard) is ‘anyone who dies, is now tested for Covid19 and, if they are positive, it is recorded as a Covid19 death’.

Yep, that's what she said. She just ruined any credibility she had. Then she went on to praise the WHO, UGH

Good point on my 250 number - I got that from the national death rate of about 1% of the population die in any given year (which makes sense with a growing population). I hadn’t thought about the ones going to Florida - and also, there are tons of recent immigrants in NYC, and most of them are probably not old.
The 1000 number is what I read in articles yesterday - 800 of which were classified as Coronavirus deaths, and another 200 were assumed to be due to Coronavirus, but since they didn’t happen in a hospital, they’re not classified as such.
Either way, 800 or 1000 (or something in between), the numbers do point to something serious going on, as you state.
So if I read what you are saying that if I have 3 clogged arteries and got the COVID, and die due to a heartattack, then I’m a COVID victim? How about terminal cancer? The reason for autopsies is to find the cause of death, not listen to lazy ass hack quacks just assume that what killed you!
That is for the top 10 on page 13 and not everyone.
Did you even bother to look at the rest?
Regarding page 13, read the very next line after it counts to through the top 10, where in slot 11 it adds in all of the other deaths not in the top 10, and then see the total.

That’s a fair point, the confirmed number for Tuesday might be closer to 600 - still very high, though. We’ll find out soon enough.
There was an article about how in NYC the typical number of deaths at home is around 20 a day. In recent days they have been picking up 220 per day that have died at home. Those extra 200 are not included in the CV count - but they figure most of them probably did die due to the CV.
A freeper (can't recall the name) said his sister-in-law in NYC felt tired, back aches and a slight fever. Figured all she needed was a good night's sleep. She never woke up and died at home. No doubt she had the CV, but was not included as a victim of it.
These aren't just numbers. They aren't theories, or models or conspiracies. They are people, loved by many. Rest in Peace.
OK, so you are basing an opinion on what you think you’ve heard. Not on what the woman actually said.
Is that a good way to go through life? Or do you think before you form an opinion on someone, you should actually listen to or read what they’ve said.
That happens a lot in this world. You would think with all of the time we have on our hands people would take a moment and actually use this tool we have for research, and read what the person has said.
It is the definition of lazy.

And PS- ALL my Leftist friends on Facebook are completely absorbed in finding out the death numbers. They try to explain ‘it is important to know’, but I am sure it is to use the ‘death rate’ against Trump. They are so transparent.

Every Covid-19 classified death by a hospital opens the door for more Fed money. Counting everything they can as Covid-19 puts a hospital on the gravy train.
Because allegiance to the President is a condition for becoming a research doctor these days.
Anyway, did you read what the woman actually said? Or are you simply reading the headline and plugging in what you “think” she said.
Because what she said actually makes sense. But that would not fit your very narrow view of what the other folks on FR want you to believe.

They do this all the time. In hurricanes and snowstorms, every car accident or heart attack gets counted as a disaster death. See a flooded road and idiotically decide to drive over? You’re a hurricane victim. Have a heart attack while shoveling snow after sitting on your ass all year? You’re a snowstorm victim.

I think a better way of looking at these numbers is to consider how many of them were dying or on the verge of death prior to getting this virus. Those numbers continue to be buried in the statistics.
