Do any freepers know someone who's passed due to the virus??
Yes. The first death in our state had been in my wifes office with no symptoms 13 days before he died. His secretarys husband died 4 days after him.
Yes, a long time friend (first grade) passed on Saturday. Much of the town turned out and had a “social distancing” parade of cars in memory. The line of cars was miles long.
nope and i don’t know anybody who is even ill.
A family member learned that someone who works in her apartment building has got the virus.
Heard it from a friend who heard it from a friend who heard that you were.....
Yes. One; and also the only one I know personally who tested positive for the virus.
ML/NJ
The father of a friend has passed. His wife just got out of ICU.
I had a dry cough that slowly turned into the achy blahs with an on again off again low grade fever. During the time I found myself easily tired. Under normal circumstances I would have dismissed it as just a touch of the grippe but it lasted for around three weeks. Towards the end of the 2nd week when I was feeling particularly miserable I made inquiries about being tested but was told that unless my symptoms became significantly more serious that I should just stay home and self isolate. They did tell me that there was a strong likelihood based on symptoms that I was infected, but could not be sure. So am I certain that I had it? No. But it is by far the most likely explanation. I’ve certainly never had a flu that lasted that long.
Thanks. I was just curious. Always good to get FReeper real world insights into this virus. Hopefully you did get it and maybe you’re done with it!
It does sound like the level of symptoms people get are all over the place — from mild to death and levels in between.
My best friends father just had what appears to be a stroke. He's in his eighties and in the hospital now. If he gets it he probably wont survive. Thing are a little stressful now.
My brother-in-laws father and sister lived in the same assisted living facility in New York City because both had significant pre-existing conditions. They had not been in contact with each other for several weeks because the father was recovering from a stroke. However, a healthcare aide had contact with them both.
The father died last Wednesday. The WuFlu test came back positive only after he died.
The next day, Thursday, the sister developed a fever. On Friday morning she was taken to the ER. The doctor said she had the classic WuFlu symptoms. She was put on a ventilator about noon and died the following morning (last Saturday). As I wrote earlier, both had pre-existing conditions, but both went very quickly.
Yes, I just got an email that one of my crew coaches from college just died.
I find it appalling that your case was not officially tested and registered as a case of COVID-19.
You seemed to have been displaying all of the "classic symptoms." You should have been tested - even if it would have provided absolutely no therapeutic benefit to you - merely to improve the reliability of our statistics.
