Do any freepers know someone who's passed due to the virus??
no
I know of three. Only one lives here in SoCal, but she’s also the one who is sick enough to be hospitalized so there’s that.
Our peak exposure risk in SoCal is now through the next two weeks when most carriers here are asymptomatic.
Peak illness is expected to hit here at the end of April.
Yep, I know the virus is real and it’s bad but our response is worse.
No and I only know one person who tested positive. My granddaughter in CO and she has very mild symptoms.
Yes, our assistant pastor’s dad.
No, but lots of people dead from this crash in the economy, niece-in-law just died, no one knows why so many more people die during dives in the economy but they do
Yes. My father passed away from covid on Friday April 3rd. He was 92 had many underlying health conditions. I miss him and it hurts. Worst part was not being able to be there with him.
My wife’s cousin was married to an otherwise healthy, late thirties man. He got the virus and we just heard that he died.
Yes as of today. A classmate of my wife, her father. About 80. I did not know him well but know he was a good man. About 6 years ago following a horrible tornado disaster out here, he called out of the blue asking whom would receive material aid he and a civil club had organized. They trucked multiple loads this way from OH. RIP Mr. Duncan.
One of my high school classmates died from it over the weekend. She was in her 40s and substantially overweight.
A friend has lost a couple of retired coworkers, and one of his friends lost his asthmatic son to it.
That’s so sad. My prayers for comfort are with you.
Yes
I live in Kitsap County in Washington State and they just announced that we have our 1st and only death today. Of course there was also extenuating illnesses involved. But of course it gets chalked up to the virus.
Yes, a young woman in critical condition in intensive care. She was in good health before becoming infected.
All of her contacts were quarantined and tested, including everyone who worked for the same company, a small utility truck body manufacturing shop. Two of my neighbors, who didn’t get close to her, tested negative. Don’t know about the rest.
In other words, there’s no high percentage of infected people in the general population. Contacts are being traced as quickly and thoroughly as possible. Only the few on the loose are infecting more people, with grocery stores being the main hubs of contagion.
This was not a death but worth mentioning.

Mightn't there be a problem, like Survivor Bias, involved here?
Like chairing a meeting and beginning it by taking roll-call. "Anyone who is absent, please raise your hand!"
Regards,
plain talk: Did you get tested with results confirming covid-19?
alex: Suspect that NRx didn't really have it.
If I had had it, and was responding on a thread like this, I wouldn't be so laconic. I'd given actual dates, speculate about how I was infected, tell you how much I paid to be tested, etc.
My wife travelled to Mezzocorona (yeah!), Italy in mid-February. When she returned, the lock-down was just beginning in northern Italy. Neither of us has gotten sick.
So you see, even someone who hasn't had the virus will generally be more forthcoming with info and provide more details.
Regards,
No, and so far we don’t know anyone who has the virus.
