Up to 4,000 New Yorkers critically ill with coronavirus are being treated with malaria drug hailed a 'game-changer' by Trump Health officials have sent hydroxychloroquine to 56 hospitals across New York
The medication is most typically used to treat malaria, lupus and arthritis A small-scale French study found that the drug could reduce the duration of the illness, but doctors have warned against taking it without guidance
Last month, New York Governor Andrew Cuomo said the drug was being used in conjunction with another for 'compassionate use' In the US, there are more than 337,000 confirmed cases of the virus and more than 9,600 deaths
Up to 4,000 patients with serious complications from the novel coronavirus in New York are being given the anti-malaria drug hydroxychloroquine.
Health officials told the New York Post that the medication has been shipped to at least 56 hospitals across the state.
Patients are being given doses as part of either a four- or 10-day regimen, in hopes that their fevers, coughs and shortness of breath will subside.
President Trump was among the first to wax lyrical about the possible benefits of hydroxychloroquine for coronavirus patients last month.
'This would be a gift from heaven, this would be a gift from God if it works,' he said. 'We are going to pray to God that it does work.'
He then repeated the claims on Twitter.

But but, the science.
The drugs are helping...so, now, it was Trump Health Officials that called it a game changer (& not Trump). Oh, brother.
The later they get these drugs, the damage is more existent.
The less effective they might be because of damage and weakened body.
Which of course would be played up by press/pol enemies as the drugs not working.
You know they are ready to go negative on this any way they can. Because Trump.

MY jaw is still on the floor that so many are jumping on the bandwagon that this cheap “possibly” effective drug is being poo-pooed by so many all at once

If there was any doubt left that Liberals love dancing on dead bodies, this should clear that up
If they only give it to those already in critical condition it will lessen the apparent effectiveness.
The earlier it is used the better the outcome.
Zinc is a serous virus killer. The hydroxychloroquine softens up the virus to let zinc enter and kill it. One Doc is subbing azithromycin with doxycycline. Doxy has less stress on the heart.
Started about a week ago, and what’s happening? The curve is flattening.
Are they getting zinc too?
Stupid Fauci is being ignored and massively ignored. The hydroxychloroquine/ Covid -19 trials are being conducted right now! In real time! In the real world where Covid patients are demanding it.
Stupid Fauci can get his clinical trials at a later date.
Dr Fauxi is BUREAUCRAT. His job is to supervise medication trials. He feels threatened when drugs are proposed without formal trials.
