Yeah, the Middle Kingdom is the 4th Reich in many ways. During my years in Berlin back in the 80s, I was always amazed at the similarities between the SS survivors and the Spetznatz that I met. Nearly identical in their fanaticism and beliefs.

The unmitigated R naught is between 3 and 5.

The available health system holds the mortality to about 1%. Once full, it escalates from there to the point that if you warrant a ventilator, you’re dead already.

That could be as high as 2% or more.

Projected # for today is 10,818. Less and we're still on a glide - albeit a shallow one. What's up with Sundays? Any ideas?

Isn't there a 12-14 day lag from infection to death in average cases? Could the Sunday dip be some kind of harmonic?

Daily percentage of new Corona virus deaths to previous day's total by country. 25% = total deaths double every 3 days, 20% = every 4 days, 15% = every 5 days, 10% = about 1 week, 5% = about 2 weeks.

Yesterday saw a big drop of about 9,000 new cases and about 200 fewer deaths, but today’s early numbers don’t suggest we’ll see another big drop - maybe even a raise. Damn.

I think you're seeing lax reporting of data on a Sunday, not an actual drop.

We have to keep future diseases from China out. That means keeping Chinese nationals, and former visitors to China, out of the US, keeping all but essential made-in-China products out of the US, etc.

So no Chinese students, tourists, etc., and no one from any country who has been to China in the past six months.

I just checked the Texas China Flu drive-thru testing site.

They show the locations, for the drive thru testing, and say to know the testing criteria....but, I can't find the criteria, on the site.
