So how is it that the South Koreans got a handle on this virus without stopping the economy or shutting down the country? South Korea has a crowded population of some 52 million people crammed into a geographical location about the size of Indiana, a perfect situation for a pandemic to spread but it didn't...
My contact friend went on to point out, "Yes, I feel very blessed to be living here in South Korea during this time. There are several factors, I think, that have made South Korea so successful in how theyve handled it. They started screening for fevers, wearing masks, putting out hand sanitizer everywhere, and just trying to make the public aware of what was happening. They were also very proactive, in testing and separating anyone who tested positive for the virus, whether they were showing symptoms or not. Because as you are correct, the majority of the cases are quite mild. Its just very contagious. So South Korea ended up turning some factory warehouses and training areas into large quarantine centers for anyone who had mild symptoms or no symptoms, but still tested positive for the virus. That saved our hospitals only for the small percentage that were actually seriously sick."
Those who tested negative for the virus went back to school and work. Those who tested positive for the virus with little or mild symptoms were quarantined. This allowed them to devote their energies to those who succumbed to the virus with much more serious conditions at hospitals with far less chaos. The other very important practice they did was to quarantine the elderly to stay at home to keep them from getting it in the first place...

Hmmm. Common sense still works. Nice to see somebody somewhere’s actually exercising common sense.
Kam Sam Nee Dah.
“Those who tested negative for the virus went back to school and work”
This actually may be the key to the reboot. Set up a “clear to work” system. Those that clear and who are exposed to the public use safeguards. Would I mind having a waitress with a mask and gloves? Not at all.

how often do they retest the negatives?
Here in the US, we killed the economy dead, didn’t quarantine anyone, until quarantining everyone, and put surfers in jail. Yeah, that’s brilliant.
I’ve been screaming this for weeks. Instead of trillions on saving our economy, how about a billion or two for test kits. Test everyone. Separate those who are positive. Those who aren’t, wear a nice green wristband showing they are good to go. Go out in public, look for people with the wrist band, and don’t be afraid to be near them. Eat at restaurants, go to work, watch a baseball game.
The test kits are the missing link here, but we have to be able to come up with a way to make them cheap and plentiful, and it will end this.
Absolutely right. There has been no effort made to emphasize coming up with ways you can keep people working, none. Instead we took a meat axe to the economy leaving thousands of businesses in the wreckage.
Ive been saying they shouldve taken 10 or 20 billion out of that terrible Bello, and offered it as a prize for both instant tests delivered in quantity, and or a vaccine
——And they had enough tests——
Where did all these tests come from?

South Koreas number are going up
Yes I think now travel restrictions will be stricter due to foreigners/foreign nationals entering the country.
Why are more tests not available here?
Thats the biggest shortfall in this.
Coralville, Iowa, company making 5 million tests per week. Processing results seems to be bottleneck.
Wow! Thanks.
I have connections to S. Korea. The main reason why S. Korea avoided the dire effects of CV19 seen in other countries is that S. Koreans wore masks in public.
For decades in SK people who were sick but didn’t wear masks became stigmatized and shunned. Everyone had masks. CV19 came along, and they used the masks.
Amen, Jim. To both your comment and signature. Keep looking UP, Brother!
