Banks have been a real pain in the neck about checks for a while now. Months. They don’t want to cash checks and when they do, even cashier’s checks, they take more time than is stated in their account agreement.
I did not go “in” today - am trying to keep trips 6-7 days apart to extend the few masks I have as much as possible.* But a friend did and reported today was a bit busy. Possibly people are assuming that soon all stores still open will be implementing rules like Wal-Mart, and trying to beat that. Who wants to wait in a line outside the grocery for 2 hours?
Gloves are problematic. Better to have sanitizer stations all over the place.
How do you plan to avoid “problematic produce”? Such as those 5 bananas already a little overripe?
“and thereby exponentially reduce the number of sick who need HCS”
Basic math is all a nursing student needs.
Exponents for many of them are a tough reach.
But you are absolutely right. Masks on the citizenry is a far more effective mitigation tactic than masks on medical staff.
If you have enough masks.
If you don’t you...er...well...you’re effed.
Masks are the key to killing this thing. Otherwise we kill the host.
What an extraordinarily edifying chart.
Worthy of it’s own post in the main forum.
I know...who has the energy for that?
New Zealand lockdown law officially bans swimming, hunting, surfing
Today, 08:42 PM
Director General of Health Dr Ashley Bloomfield said the issuing of the Health Notice was to ensure its success and help move the country out of lockdown as soon as possible.
The notice sets out:
Everyone in New Zealand is to be isolated or quarantined at their current place of residence except as permitted for essential personal movement
Exercise is to be done in an outdoor place that can be readily accessed from home and two-metre physical distancing must be maintained
Recreation and exercise does not involve swimming, water-based activities (for example, surfing or boating), hunting, tramping, or other activities of a kind that expose participants to danger or may require search and rescue services
A child can leave the residence of one joint care-giver to visit or stay at the residence of another joint care-giver (and visit or stay at that residence) if there is a shared bubble arrangement
A person can leave their residence to visit or stay at another residence (and visit or stay at that residence) under a shared bubble arrangement if:
One person lives alone in one, or both, of those residences; or
Everyone in one of those residences is a vulnerable person.

“and the average person has an IQ of 100”
I think in the US it’s now down to 98 or 99.
Worse, half are below that.
Yes, the guy that created that is someone on FluTrackers who has been tracking flu statistics for the past 10 years or so.
if anyone thinks they have had the virus and you are in California... (or maybe anywhere) research team is looking for you
If you don’t have a fever of 102 deg nobody will give you the time of day in a NYC hospital.
Cough, sore throat and shortness of breath will get excoriated without fever.
Just show ‘em that graph in post 227.
For my sanity, I don’t really follow Lamont’s press conferences as he simply waits for Cuomo to tell him what to do half the time.
Thats why they have surgical gloves to wear, You put one on and you don't touch anything directly.
Please. You keep posting it could get you in an accident. How about this. You trust people to drive safe and defensively? Could you still get in an accident - yes.
You're just finding ways for people to not have even a semblance of a normal life.
*My masks are primarily to keep me from sharing ANY bug I might have from my 89 y/o Mom. But, that includes trips to the store, now. Bloody Wal-Mart doesn’t have those little sanitizer towelettes @ the door any more - I guess they can’t get enough.
I’m planting a bigger garden this year, but “results” are many weeks away. Frost danger is almost gone...
Worldometer is showing a US death count today of 1,331.
It is listed in the “yesterday” tab:

People can do those things - wasting gas - it's really none of your concern. It may make you you uncomfortable, but a lot of people do know how to take precautions against COVID-19 *and* do the things you don't approve of.
Trump also made a crack about Biden getting 1% of the vote, or something like that. Part of the banana I’d just taken a bite of almost ended up on my monitor.
There’s an old Rock and Roll legend that says the greatest song ever written was about Mick Jagger bragging at a party about Marianne Faithful...
Lennon said he doesn’t like braggarts. Even though he was one of the biggest of all.

It was basically Lennon saying he’d “be around” when Jagger fell...I suppose to rub it in.
