FLASHBACK: Jan. 21: Fauci Says Coronavirus ‘Not A Major Threat’ To U.S. ('minuscule' in February)
Daily Caller ^ | 4/03/20 | William Davis

Dr. Anthony Fauci, the director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases and President Donald Trump’s top adviser on matters related to the coronavirus, said in a January interview that the virus was “not a major threat” to the U.S.

“Bottom line. We don’t have to worry about this one, right?” Newsmax anchor Greg Kelly asked Fauci on January 21.

“Obviously, you need to take it seriously, and do the kinds of things that the CDC and the Department of Homeland Security are doing, ” Fauci responded. “But, this not a major threat for the people of the United States, and this is not something that the citizens of the United States right now should be worried about.”

**SNIP**

Fauci made similar comments in February, saying the threat to the U.S. from the coronavirus was “minuscule.” By early March, Fauci had changed his tune, saying the virus “could be really, really bad,” but still said he believed the situation could be MITIGATED.

“I don’t think it’s gonna be, because I think we’d be able to do the kind of mitigation. It could be mild. I don’t think it’s going to be that mild either. It’s really going to depend on how we mobilize,” he said at the time.

Fauci’s comment, and a similar comment two or three weeks later, have been washed down the memory hole by the media. Fauci - a long-time expert in the field - was the man Trump relied on for advice.

Authority bias is the tendency to attribute greater accuracy to the opinion of an authority figure (unrelated to its content) and be more influenced by that opinion. This concept is considered one of the so-called social cognitive biases or collective cognitive biases. The Milgram experiment in 1961 was the classic experiment that established its existence.

I take no pleasure in saying it, but I’m afraid that Fauci, because of his repeated negative comments about hydroxychloroquine on national TV, may have contributed to the deaths of many covid-19 patients. I saw him multiple times on TV poo pooing the possible benefits, and discouraging medical providers from prescribing it. But now, hydroxychloroquine is standard protocol widely around the world.

You have to understand that, if you are infected with a novel pathogen like this, the infectious disease intelligentsia are NOT your friend. They are only interested in conducting large scale clinical trials and then developing treatment protocols. Meanwhile, you die.

Exactly. Dr. “Doom” was in on the “attack” from the get-go and worked hand-in-hand with the communist RATs & CCP to ensure maximum effect from its spread. Everything he has said & done has been to deceptively promote the “attack”. Meanwhile, the whole time, the POTUS and his team are trusting and depending on this little commie traitor for guidance and advice. He and the PIAPS are kissing buddies...that alone should have been a huge RED FLAG. The traitorous little POS should be hanged right along side of a whole bunch of others.

I’m looking at the state numbers. NY has ~103k cases CA ~13k. NY has almost 40% of all US cases. Both states have large international airports. I would have thought that CA would be worse off as geographically flights from China are more likely to go to CA.

We need to investigate how NY got so bad.

Actually the infection came from Italy, not from China, so New York makes more sense.

Numbers are partially an illusion. New York is doing more testing.

And about a week prior to this date the WHO was still pushing the Chinese Communist Party lie that human-human transmission was unlikely.

CA was bad. they are moving away from it. NY did not do anything to lock down the virus even after it was known. Their population is far more mass transit based. And they have lots of contact with Chinese, Iranians and Italians. Los Angles is very car based. Less crowding. And they took it more seriously when it first hit California.

I think that Fauci, the CDC, etc., just could not get their heads wrapped around the idea that COVID-19 could be quite effectively spread by asymptomatic carriers or those with mild symptoms. If they had reacted as fast as the people who bought all the masks off the shelves from retailers like Lowes, we’d all be a lot better off. It’s as if they discounted the news reports, vids, etc., coming out of China.
