That’s an interesting insight into the stressful job of air traffic controlling.

Hi thanks for the new thread. I’m sure there is lots of creativity going on in many kitchens these days.

I don’t know how they do it - maintaining presence of mind like that, when everything is coming down (or going up.)

I guess humor - or at least the ability to exercise it - is necessary in a lot of professions involving that level of stress.

Yes, the burnout rate must be extremely high. I didn’t know they had much leeway in what or how they could say things

I’ve been trying to empty out the freezer of older items —and doing searches for new recipes using those things.

Making home made bread and crockpot yogurt so we don’t have to go to the store. We are now on mandatory lockdown due to a statewide order. DemocRATS in St. Louis have been having fits criticizing Governor for not doing this.

I’m surprised he was able to resist for so long. So far we are lucky-no cases in our county yet.

That Chicken a la Crema looks wonderful. I bookmarked that one and will make it real soon. Thanks for posting.

We had a simple Shrimp with fresh Lemon Juice, Olive Oil, Dijon Mustard, Capers, a Pat of Butter, and Chopped Parsley dish last night over a Rigatoni pasta. Real simple and quick throw-together hits the spot on a cold night.

Here’s an interview with him. Apparently he was never rebuked by a supervisor - it was understood that nothing was meant personally:

I decided to rotate our emergency stock. We now have umpteen cans of chicken, tuna, corn, green beans, cream of everything soups, 16 lbs various pasta, and more in my pantry.

So interested in recipes to use this up.

You could make a great casserole out of the chicken or tuna, corn, cream soup and pasta...

What impressed me most was the *gentlemanliness* - regardless the occasional light-hearted barb - that these men exercise among themselves, even in very high-stress situations.

Yes I was surprised by the use of Sir quite often. I wonder what they call the female Pilots, ma’am?

I love chef John’s recipes. I haven’t found a bad one yet.

I think I heard a ‘Ma’am’ in at least one video. Not sure if the lady was a pilot or ATC.

(Of course, Barbara Boxer would be highly offended. I personally felt pretty proud and special when I reached the status where men - and younger people - addressed me as ‘Ma’am.’)

Did you? I just feel old when they do that. Especially when it’s my doctor or dentist! They are getting younger every year. I swear my dentist is 15.

“OLD’ is now the ‘new middle-age’.

Get with the ‘progressive’ program :-)
