Its just the flu, bro.
A few discussion points for today:
1.The scientific findings of HSD (health-differentiated social distancing) which were discussed in yesterdays thread. To summarize - stop the social distancing/lockdown for the young and healthy - in fact the quicker they get infected the better, for purposes of developing herd immunity to protect the old.
2. Death count is overstated: As a fellow Flubro told me yesterday - people are dying WITH Coronavirus and not FROM Coronavirus. That is why the right hand side of the curve will be inflated relative to a normal viral spread curve.
3. Governments will use this to get more control over us - (see number 2 above - continuing a fake ongoing crisis is essential).

Great read
Thanks for you intelligent contribution, BallSack.

I kind of think that’s symantics.
If a person with CV gets run over by a train then the train killed him not the CV. Unless he fell on the tracks due to CV. If he gets into an accident, that wasn’t his fault then the accident killed him. But if he passed out while driving then the CV killed him.
But in most co-morbidity factors, obesity, diabetes, hypertension, heart disease, they weren’t going to die immediately maybe not for decades. CV is the killer.
I am now convinced this whole thing is an utter hoax, but its impact is devastating to the world’s economy. It is the mother of all over-reactions.

Stop posting the same trash - NYC average daily death rate was/is at least 400.
“If someone has terminal stage 4 cancer the cause of death should NOT be Covid,”
But it will be/is happening. How else can they fudge the numbers to make Trump look bad?
We do not have enough tests to even test every SYMPTOMATIC case. To get a test here, you need to be REALLY sick, and have a Doctor’s order.
We are not testing asymptomatic people - why would any state do that? Most don’t have enough tests to test even the really, really sick and many who think they have it are denied tests because they don’t meet some inexplicable criteria that generally makes sense to no-one. So, your assertion that many of our cases are asymptomatic is just plain not correct. And we likely have even MORE cases than reported because we are being so selective in using the few tests we have remaining.
We also have a 3.86% CFR if looking at deaths vs. confirmed cases.
And from what I’m hearing daily, symptoms are far worse than a “cold” for the vast majority of people. Our hospitals are over-flowing with CV19 patients, to the point we are building field hospitals to handle the surge.
In what state do you live?
Deaths in USA, 18 per 1,000,000. (0.000018)
I actually saw a stat recently on how many Americans have “co-morbidities” including diabetes, obesity, heart disease, etc and we were by far the worst country by a pretty big margin on all categories.
So, yeah..if “co-morbidities” is an issue..we are REALLY screwed.

This whole thing may just be feeding into this: Imagine the MSM wanted us out of our cars. All they would have to do to convince the sucker population is start breathlessly report every traffic fatality worldwide, along with those that survive but are seriously injured. It would “feel” like we were having a traffic death emergency.
And imagine some of us deniers showing previous years’ stats to try to convince people that nothing special is going on - and we are treated as heartless people that care about money more than people.
I think that sums up what is happening, except this is no joke. We’ve been plunged into another worldwide Great Depression
I think the tell is the fact that yesterday Andrew Cuomo put the number 93K out there for total nationwide deaths from this.
Not 2 million, not 240,000. They’ve begun the process of walking this back.
Though not TOO quickly as all of the Federal money spigots are wide open.
Look at the worldometer stats. This whole thing is a minor thing compared to other methods of death. See my post just above this one.
The other thing to consider is whether the long-term control drugs factor in.
Lisinopril damages the kidneys; CKD is a co-factor.
Metformin/Glipizide “throttle” the pancreas and harm the liver; diabetes is a co-factor.
And, really, when we’re locked-down, Type-II folks are eating lots more carbs and sugars in their snacks. AMIRIGHT?
If you also take a statin, it lowers your CoQ-10 (there’s that letter again, baggie) and damages your liver.
I’m not saying we need to stop our long-term meds. I am saying that there is a lot more to consider when assessing co-morbidity factors.
A lot of the debates about this here get WAY too personal.
I’ve had some pretty intense back-and-forth with some of our “end of the world” posters like Hockey Stick McGee and Admiral Nelson. But I have absolutely nothing personal against any of them. They just have views and opinions that don’t agree with mine is all.
Our hospitals are not overflowing.
Spot On !!!!
