I agree. Anything to remind people of what normal life is like will help move those suffering from the panic- and hysteria-induced emotional paralysis caused by the Chinese virus and the panic zealots in the media and social media.

sounds like the union and the players are concerned about their $$$ for this year.
baseball behind closed doors is a bad idea.

I doubt they’ll want to be piling 45,000 people into Yankee Stadium anytime soon.

Anything to keep from breaching their contracts with the networks. If they can schedule a 30 game season they can argue to the courts that they did their best and should be paid for the season.

Well don’t come to Warren, Michigan. The parks and rec kicked out 6 old guys yesterday who were simply taking softball batting practice on one of their fields.......

Play them all in American Samoa. Or Antarctica.

No way should that happen. Play the games at home so the local fans can go.

From what I've been hearing over the sports radio airwaves, the TV networks are pushing hard for this sort of arrangement because their losses are staggering for each canceled game.
I'm kind of surprised MLB is taking the lead on this. This morning I was convinced the NBA would come out with this kind of plan first.

If they can pull it off it’s a great idea. Sports is a haven. Honestly what I’d do is pick someplace out of the way with multiple fields, like one of their spring training areas. Get all the teams there, quarantine them in hotels. And play the schedule. If you can get 8 fields you can easily run a full day’s schedule in day and evening slots, with time for sanitizing the dugouts. Get the game on.

It won’t change the reception the Astros are going to get.

Go to the spring training sites. They are all in the sun belt away from the northern tier inner city pestholes.
Yuma has a wonderful stadium complex that used to be where the Padres did spring training.

Plenty of people would be watching NHL,NBA and MLB at home even if there’s nobody in the stands.
