Worldometer’s Coronavirus website is very useful - Italy’s deaths appears to be on the decline. We aren’t that many days behind them - some experts say somewhere between 1-2 weeks behind.
What could we have done differently? State and local jurisdictions take their lead from the CDC. The CDC should have recommended the old and those with weakened immune system isolate themselves and let everyone else live their lives. The vulnerability of the old and already sick to Coronavirus was well known for many weeks. If the healthy live their lives normally then the healthy would develop immunity and the herd immunity (which protects the vulnerable) would kick in much faster. Sweden especially seems to be going this route. We will see how many more or fewer deaths they have compared to everywhere else.
This will, when we look at the death count in the end, be similar to a flu season.
My concern is that if the lockdown’s don’t ease up in a week or two at the most, civil unrest kicks in. And that can ramp up a lot faster than this virus.
I will tell you a little secret. NY and NJ are filled with complete aholes. Aholes that believe “It’s just the flu, bro.” They acted accordingly and look at their numbers. I hope in the next three weeks your conscience does not awaken and you regret this thread till the day you die. Little chance of that though. Its like girls and trailer parks. Ahole is a permanent condition.

Hospitals not NEAR to overflowing.
Doing my grocery shopping and going to the pharmacy for my aunts and there’s no shortage of goods and i don’t anyone WHO KNOWS anyone that has this.

If you look at the coronavirus maps you will see the denses outbreaks near International Airports. Before Trump banned flights from China ..enough infected Chinese travelers got in.
New Yorkers and New Jerseyians can be jerks but not near as many as you might think.
Otherwise, if i had to live in a city i would probably be a jerk,too.
I hear ya. The “sky is falling” narrative is bound to come to a crash sooner than later. Here in Central Texas, I’ve had no problems getting groceries, although I might have to stand in line to enter the supermarket..for all of 5-10m. As far as I know, our hospitals aren’t even close to overflowing and we’ve had a grand total of 6 deaths in the county.
The “your” in my post meant folks that that things are normal here in NY.

The mortality rate of the seasonal flu vs CV19 can certainly be calculated, but the lethality difference can’t be accurately determined without a controlled study.

I Love southern folks but the people on here got so much HATE in their hearts for NY and NYC when the closest they’ve probably been to is “New York, New York” in Vegas :)
