Nearly 100 more Big Apple residents died from the coronavirus since Sunday morning, raising the citys death toll to 776, according to city data.
From 9:30 a.m. to 4:15 p.m., the city tallied 98 more deaths and 1,166 more coronavirus cases, meaning 33,474 people in the city have now been infected with the illness.
Queens, in that time-frame, remained the hardest-hit borough with 10,737 cases.
Brooklyn has the second most cases at 8,887, followed by the Bronx at 6,250, Manhattan at 5,582 and Staten Island with 1,984.
Mayor de Blasio earlier Sunday warned the city will be in the throes of the virus for quite some time to come.
We will go through a really tough, tough journey, the mayor said at a press briefing.
April will be worse than March, and I fear that May could even be worse than April, he said. Were going to be in for weeks of this.
Gov. Cuomo on Sunday extended mandatory business closures until at least April 15 to cope with the pandemic.
Several hours later, President Trump extended the federal social distancing guidelines to April 30.

I have a feeling it has something to do with the treatment . If like to know if they all went to the same hospital
Almost as if it’s something other than, or besides COVID-19.
“We should be taking zinc as a preventative imo.
Zinc supplements are nearly all 2 or 3 weeks out for delivery on Amazon. So many are taking the advice. But you need to read the labels as some Zinc supplements have less zinc that you might find in a multi vitamin. The “Alive” brand of multi that I take has 100% daily zinc requirement. Some zinc supplements (not all) have less than that.
Zinc Losenges are hard to come by as well. Once again check the labels, you might have to suck on 5 or 6 of those to get 100% of your zinc intake.
Do you think it will ever occur to him that he has blood on his hands from telling people to go out and not take precautions because it’s no big deal?
I have bought this brand before for B vitamins. Out of Utah, lots of Mormons in the supplement business>>>> They do an honest and good job at it.
Here is their zinc at Amazon and in stock!

This link
https://www.quora.com/How-many-people-die-in-New-York-every-day
gives the number of deaths in the
State of New York not
New York City.
Understandable mistake but please don’t continue to post this misleading information. Here is a link to mortality in New York City from NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene. Deaths in NYC in 2014 were 53,006 from all causes.

So, world-wide case now at about 700K - 1/50th of the Flu cases in the US, and death rates constantly being moved to lower numbers, and several drugs showing some efficacy, and we keep sitting on the edge of our seats, toes on the floor and heels tapping so the knees vibrate up and down, and refuse to just take reasonable precautions and relax a bit....because, we want to be like Joe Biden and pretend like our worry and the broadcasting of it actually counts as something useful....or sumpin’ like dat
The WorldMeter is the entire state. The article is about the City.
Still a good question.
I wonder if the State death number drop was the use of hydroxychloroquine?
Are they using hydroxychloroquine in the city?
The FDA approved the use of hydroxychloroquine might because the drug work in New York.
I guess those question be answer in the coming days.
I see the numbers of people infected and the number of deaths. What is the number of people who recovered? I haven’t seen that...
Could it be the large Asian population in Manhattan? God knows how many go back and forth to China.
About the same rate as WI.
The left cares so much about the little people but not enough to give them meds that even a homeless person could nearly afford.
True but 98 of them died of “just a cold” yesterday
This is not ‘news’. We know this would happen because NY doesn’t / didn’t apply the HCQ-Az pak at the onset of the first symptom. They wrote a memo that the drugs could only be used after 10 days in hospital. Of course by then they are pre-cytokine.
LIBs/Progressives are the ultimate malignancy on societies everywhere.
I recommend looking at the official numbers recorded at the same time every day to get a better sense of the trend. You can find that here, with screenshots of the source info:
https://covidtracking.com/data/state/new-york/#history
The site has the total hospitalizations and deaths also. Deaths is a lagging indicator, while hospitalizations is a leading indicator.
If you look at positives, the new cases are about 7000/day for the last 3 days. The slope of the curve is constant i.e., the curve is linear (not exponential). Hopefully the slope will go down further even more in the next few days.
If you follow Cuomo’s daily brief, he has other stats also in case you want to dig deeper.
Zinc deficiency causes loss of taste and smell which is a symptom often mentioned

Do you have a link for this or any reliable source?
I ask because I ONCE used oral zinc for a cold and lost taste/smell for 2 weeks from 3 days of usage according to directions. It was frightening: couldn’t smell gas leak; couldn’t smell smoke; couldn’t distinguish spoiled food; couldn’t properly season food.
Everything I’ve ever seen states ZINC supplementation causes loss of taste/smell.
re:Worldometer:
How do you find # of recoveries?
Johns Hopkins is also not showing recoveries. My area keeps adding cases (Only 15 in one county directly north)and zero recoveries. In Dane County, 100 miles to the east, also shows no recoveries.
I see the numbers of people infected and the number of deaths. What is the number of people who recovered? I havent seen that...

Ditto and for my state/area as well.
The Governor and the Mayor of NYC are doing a bang up job of criticizing President Trump but not so much about controlling the coronavirus themselves.
