If you have to go on a vent with this virus the odds of ever coming off are not good regardless of age.
They are already doing this in Italy. Lets pray this does not come to pass in Austin.
Info varies.
Seems a few days before they show symptoms they have seveloped a heavy viral load and are at least moderately infectious.
At the time the patient just feels ‘a little off’.
In a family situation even lightly infectious people spread because of the intimacy.
What do you think will change, in NY/NJ/CT, in the next 24 hrs?
there is a video of a doctors wife making them out of hepa filter bags. seemed to be pretty easy. you need a sewing machine
Yikes!
This is terrible.
Is there any way you can post the email, speedy? Like a cut and paste?
Not at all. Just going by the new deaths / total deaths number. We can take extraordinary measures, but doing so doesn't mean the measures will actually work, or that there won't be other extenuating circumstances which makes what we've put in place useless. The numbers will tell the tale. If what we're doing is working, ND/TD will fall quickly: Quarantine working = about 5 - 7 days. Miracle cure administered, 2 - 3 days, etc. Likewise, if the virus mutates to a more deadlier strain, God forbid, the number will go up in about a week or so.
Again, I ask, why are you starting the count today?
Because the number is dynamic. It changes every time someone dies. To be useful, it can never be static. Given the data, I could calculate it on an hour by hour basis; just so happens a daily tally works well for me and is how I can get the data.
From you other post:
My question is: The number column in your post is what youre saying is projected for a trajectory of deaths at the current rate?
Correct. It's dynamic, like I describe above and actually I'm about to see what it looks like for today.
What may be hard to stomach, will be the ongoing need for drastic measures, which will likely become the new normal, for the foreseeable future.
Totally agree. We have to get the ND/TD down ASAP. After seeing what we're up against, hopefully the need for such drastic measures becomes easier for others to understand.
If the ND/TD number doesn't drop well below where it is now, many thousands of us here in the US only have a few weeks, or months left.
We need more and consistent testing in all locations. I think medical professionals will get there eventually. For now, I feel the fatality reports, and second, numbers of those who've recovered, are the most accurate information we have to base our decisions on.
“here is a video of a doctors wife making them out of hepa filter bags.”
Probably a better idea than the diapers, because I understand we are just as out of diapers as we are masks.
Cuomo won the first round, it appears
No, I disagree my fellow Beatles fan, This isnt about Trump vs. Cuomo, and Trump isnt operating on that impetus. This is about keeping everyone working together and not having a cataclysm develop while they attempt to thread the needle. The good news is that Italy and France have now directed that the treatment that has Trumps name all over it (because he promoted it first) is their treatment of choice. He has cover for the one thing that can allow them to thread this needle - a treatment. An effective treatment can turn this from Captain Trips into the flu.
Thats what is needed, because quarantine or not, this is going everywhere in the country anyway. We will all be exposed at some time or another.
I’m thinking they were talking about cloth diapers.
A Barcelona “take down” by police of a quarantine scoffer:

The big difference from those Chinese vids is the professionalism of the officers.
Cuomo won the first round, it appears.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Maybe not. Cuomo broadcasts his threats publicly, Trump utilizes his leverage privately.
I think we’ll see strident lock downs announced and implemented at the state level.
“Im thinking they were talking about cloth diapers.”
I see. Been a long time since I’ve had to deal with them, and I wasn’t very good with them back then.
Hey, thanks for pinging me to your charts. Don’t reply much, but appreciate them.
Wish we could see new admissions/new releases, so we can watch the load on hospitals. but that will prpobably be impossible to get.
The fit, healthy, gym-going 28-year-old, from Kerry, Ireland, began to suffer a headache a fortnight ago, shortly after coming back from a trip to London. Within 24 hours, the symptoms came on with brutal speed: a soaring temperature, uncontrollable shaking, and sudden, extreme breathlessness
Why would you post such BS?
Its not penetrating the skin. Its the same thing, touch an infected surface and touch your face - wham, you have the virus.
The skin of an infected person is an infected surface.
Hopefully so.
I found it quite interesting that both DeBlab and POTUS both used the phrase “a decision will be made soon” regarding NYC/NY area.
What a mess NYC is.
What is with the utensils??
It’s always the utensils spreading this stuff.
Hand, mouths and all, I suppose.
they have to touch their eyes, nose or mouth...not just their face. Or an infected surface.
