Joe Biden nearly offered his cell phone number to family members of coronavirus victims on national television Friday night as he discussed the difficulty of not being able to be there for loved ones who are dying.
The former vice president, who is on the verge of claiming the 2020 Democratic nomination to take on President Donald Trump, emotionally recalled the deaths of his first wife and young daughter in a 1972 car crash and of his son Beau from brain cancer in 2015.
"I've lost a couple children. I've lost a wife," Biden said at a CNN town hall. "And it is incredibly difficult to go through, and it's harder to go through when you haven't had an opportunity to be with the person while they're dying."
After noting that he had been able to be with his mother, father and son as they died, he noted that with "my deceased wife, I was not able to do that."
"I was not able to," Biden said, pausing and growing emotional. "I was not able to be there."

Watched the final 3 or 4 questions, seems like it was a typical media softball for Democrat set-up and this was the last question so they could have a dramatic moment. Biden was able to skew all the answers to ‘his way is best’, but to me, seems, he ends up lecturing like he’s taking to Republicans on the Senate floor. The one lady he’s telling her get tested for free, get unemployment and your stimulus check is coming, really just hashing over stuff that is already known and trying to one up the President.
I put it on for a short time last night for entertainment. Biden was dumping on Trump saying he should have done this and that. I lasted about 2 min and turned it off. I just don’t have the patience.
I wonder if they count you as one of the 2000 that watched.

That's what this town hall event looks like to me; the opportunity to make Joe look like 'he care'.
