Other than a contamination issue - not sure how to deal with that, those should last forever when used only for protection against a biological threat.

Maybe with several masks, you could place a used/contaminated mask in an elevated temperature environment, for several hours, to decontaminate it?

On another thread today they were making fun of the Chinese using bear bile for treatment. They missed an important datapoint there. The Chinese may be cruel, but they aren't stupid.

Lipid abnormalities have been found in all cases of infection, particularly conjugated bile salts. In our studies we noticed similarities between our rare disease patients and metabolic syndrome. We hypothesize with metabolic syndrome the reduction in pantothenic acid resulted in low hepatic BAAT protein expression, whereas with our patients genetic down regulation was during the next step.

I have to do more thinking on this since B5 may be a long term aid for those try to reverse metabolic syndrome during this outbreak. The best of course is low carb and cyclical fasting for rapid reversal of risk.

From the git-go, I've had a concern this outbreak is a literal "smokescreen", to hide strategic releases of much more deadlier strains.

What would full scale bio-war look like?

N95 masks cannot be made at home. Special materials are required. Those protect you from other people. Ordinary medical procedure masks can be made at home, but those are only useful in protecting other people from your coughs and sneezes if you already have the Virus.

I saw a tutorial on how to make a mask that gave the actual “N” rating in comparison to store bought masks. It was lower, as you say, but some protection is better than none, imo, since I’ve read how sick you get may depend upon the initial virus load you receive. In other words, if you are infected with a smaller number of virus particles, your body has longer to gear up for a fight against it.

I don't consider the Diamond Princess to be a valid sample for death rates. The older age cohorts of the passengers were too large relative to the total passengers.

I do consider the Diamond Princess to be a valid but rough sample for the ratio of asymptomatic to symptomatic infected - at least as many asymptomatic as symptomatic. IMO that is the only valid virus statistic we can pull from the ship.

Fasting after a period of time, according to a number of researchers, puts your cells into survival mode. Could this mode make it harder for a virus to get inside a cell and takeover the reproduction machinery?

Its not 100 % functional. Accident lab release of the original bioweapon under modification into a vaccine. So we have a disease that was half way to being useable as a vaccine. Completely unpredictable. That is the only explanation for welding people in their homes. Normally you dont release a bioweapon till you have the vaccine. Obviously with Prince Charles and Greta the Snow Princess getting sick, they dont have the vaccine yet. Or they do and it’s a very very bad one. Lol.

I'm offering my opinion here. ExDemMom is correct. In epidemiology, the graphing for R0 is correct. They are looking for the point of inflection to determine the outcome of public health recommendations, clinical interventions and/or population immunity.

In engineering we used Fourier and power spectrum to pull out signals for non-destructive testing (patented). We then used polynomial fit to take us from reactive to resistive. Sinusoidal functions are generally the domain of engineering and not epidemiology.

Just apologize and move on.
